Lots and lots of scrap pieces of laminate flooring. Come on crafty people, give me some tips on what I can make with these things. I hate to just throw it away and it end up in a landfill.

Tips, ideas, pictures of what you’ve made, anything?

I was trying to think of something, too. We have sample pieces, so they’re not that big. As of right now I’ve got plant coasters and art canvases, but I’d like something more fun!

How about using them to weigh the trashcan down???

We’ve also got scads of those and although I haven’t yet done it, I’m planning on making birdhouses. Lots of birdhouses!

I use the bigger pieces to cover my warming drawer to my oven. You know no one uses that for warming anything in. I use it to put my sauce and cooking pans in.

One use I had for laminate scraps when I redid my kitchen floor as to use a larger square of it under my cat litter box as extra protection for my floor.

How about a craft project with your son, where you make a mosaic picture? You can cut/break them up even smaller to make better mosaic pieces. laurachilton {at} hotmail {dot} com

I made flower boxes with it. Before wasting my time, I stuck a scrap in my garden and left it a year. There was no swelling or other distortion, so I know the flower boxes will last a while. All that toxic glue, I guess!
