When Mom Central announced the SeatSnug blog tour I knew immediately I wanted to participate. As you know my son is well past using a car seat or booster seat, but this is a topic that is still important to both me and my husband.
When my son was a baby we researched seats and found the best one we could. Then we were diligent about it being installed properly in our car. My hubby was a fanatic about the safety of everything related to the baby. He put the car seat in and wiggled it all over and did all sorts of yanking and pulling to make sure he had it installed just right. If one of the grandparents were going to watch the baby hubby would make sure he installed the car seat in their car for them as well. What we did find was that not all seatbelts work the same and the car seat that worked well in our car wasn’t as good in other cars. The same was true as our son grew and we moved into booster seats. At the time we just had to do the best we could.
Hubby is an automotive tech and is in customer cars all day long. From the time we had our son so many years ago until this day even one huge pet peeve he has in improperly installed safety seats. He has shown many of his customers about the issue. Even with all the advances in safety, this is one area hubby feels still needs improvement. He was very happy to see the SeatSnug for this reason and hopes he will start seeing them in his customer’s cars soon!
So what SeatSnug does is enhance the safety and comfort for kids riding in booster seats. Take a minute to look around their website and watch the video to see how it works. The seatbelt slack causes a lot of issues and the SeatSnug addresses just that issue. It prevents the child from bouncing , rocking, tipping, sliding, and even falling while in the booster seat during normal operation of your car. If it helps that much during the normal operation, just imagine how much safer your child or grandchild would be in an emergency type situation!
SeatSnug even has a video on how to install the product to help everyone out. I think this will be a big help to anyone! There are, of course, well written instructions in the package also, but I really like the video.
The SeatSnug is meant to stay on the seatbelt you put it on. Because of this, they also have a way to turn it on and off for those times when that seat won’t be used for a booster seat. They have another video to explain the on and off switch also.
