Susan G Komen for the Cure St. LouisToday I went with my mom to the Shades of Pink Luncheon which is put on by the Susan G. Komen St. Louis group. It is for breast cancer survivors and their guests. My mom is a 9+ year survivor and has become quite involved with the Komen organization over the years. This was my 2nd year to attend the luncheon and I am honored that Mom asked me to go with her again.

On June 13 is the Komen Race for the Cure in St. Louis. If you cannot make the actual walk on the day you can “Sleep in for the Cure” also which is a cute idea that still helps raise funds. This year they are also doing a “Dine Out for the Cure” on June 11. Just go out to eat and a participating restaurant and a portion of your bill will be benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure St. Louis. Of course, you can just make a direct donation as well.

There is plenty of information on all the different events and options on the Susan G. Komen for the Cure St. Louis page. If you are not in St. Louis you can find your closest city on Komen.org.

Wow. that is really inspiring. breast cancer — I can’t even fathom how someone can find strength after all that. Your mom sounds like an incredible woman.

After three hours of sleep last night, a “sleep in for the cure” sounds awesome. I’d sleep for any cure right now.

What a great cause to support! My Grandmother is a breast cancer survivor so I know how important it is to support this.
