St. Louis Zoo

Today we all went to the St. Louis Zoo. I haven’t been in several years so I was happy when Taylor said he wanted to go. I knew going in that this would not be an all day event for him, but I was happy to just go for a bit and see what he wanted to see. At his age, I am thinking this is the last time as parents and child alone we will get to go to the zoo with him.

We had a very nice time, the weather was overcast which was nice. We wandered around – most definitely got some good walking exercise in for the day – and just enjoyed the animals. The St. Louis Zoo is one of the best in the country and it is FREE! Is that not great? There are a few things that you have to pay to do, but honestly you can go to the St. Louis Zoo and not spend a dime if you don’t want to. If you go often the membership is well worth the money and something to look into. You can even follow my zoo on twitter @STLzoo

Looks like a wonderful zoo! I know what you mean about older sons and trips like these being priceless. This summer we went to the Baltimore Aquarium with my son and totally enjoyed our day.

Aw, I love the photos. I went over the summer with my family (so I don't think you're ever too old…I was the youngest and I'm 19) but I didn't get to see the penguins, which are my favorite. :( Oh well, it was still nice for the most part. Very hot though.

We live about 4 hours from the st louis zoo, we go at least once a year, we absolutely love it!
If you get there during the 1st hour its open, you can see the petting zoo and ride the carousel for free also.

FREE?! And I thought the SF Zoo was great for easy free street parking! Such a bittersweet trip! Cool pics!

I love the zoo. We actually have a family membership to the one here in MD. The one I would love to check out is the zoo in DC. That one is free too.

Love your vids & pics. Who doesn't love going to the zoo? Our family hasn't been to that particular zoo (way too far away for us) but we have been to the Toronto and Buffalo zoo and our entire family just loved it. Just love watching them and you never know what your going to see.

I usually go to the St. Louis Zoo every summer. I did not get the chance to make it this year unfortunately. I'm not a fan of the high prices of food, but everything else is great and it makes for a wonderful trip.

Wow gorgeous pics, that green snake was very BRIGHT! lol

I can't believe your Zoo is free. Ours here is very expensive. We just can't afford to go like I wish we could. That is so wonderful that you could go every day if you wanted and not spend a dime!
