Kraft Foods You're Kidding Right?

kraft foods food and family magazine not worth the moneyKraft Foods you have got to be kidding about including a subscription fee to your food & family magazine right?

Today the latest edition of the magazine came in the snail mail. I've gotten this for quite some time. It's a think little magazine, nice glossy images, but basically a giant add for Kraft Foods. All sorts of recipes and advertisements for their own products. I use a lot of Kraft items and find a couple of recipes in each issue usually that I might want to try. Sometimes there are some coupons I can use as well. Again though, this is basically a giant advertisement for them. So when the magazine came today in a plastic sleeve and enclosed was a subscription notice asking me for $6.99 for a year subscription I was really shocked. I can get actual magazines for less than this (not all, but some major ones). Why in the world would I pay to receive this advertisement? Honestly, I just don't get it.

So thanks, but no thanks Kraft Foods. I think I will forgo paying to read your advertisement magazine. I really think this is a crappy move on your part and it lessens my opinion of your company overall a bit. I'm disappointed in you.

I am with you! Just got ours today, too! I cannot believe it - bad choice Kraft!

I got mine last month and couldn't believe they did that. I too will not be getting the subscription.

Got mine last month with the notice and just rolled my eyes. I don't think so, no subscription for me.

I knew it was only a matter of time. In these days of corporate cut-backs, this great freebie was doomed.
I don't mind paying the $6.99. The recipes and coupons I get in the next year will be worth it. I wouldn't pay $12.98 though. We all have our limits!

I'm with you - no subscription for me.

I got mine, too, and I feel the same way. There is no way I'm paying for a magazine of advertizements!

I like the magazine but not enough to pay for it.

I thought the same thing when my issue came with the invoice! They have to be out of their minds. IMO, there are not enough coupons or useful articles to justify paying any kind of fee for that magazine. It is really a collection of ads.

I agree with you, I got mine yesterday and was shocked. You are so right, why would anyone pay for advertisement, anyways any of these recipes can be viewed on their website.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. It's completely ridiculous.

Why pay for an ad? No more for me!

Stefany 10/31/09 9:59 PM

That was something that irritated me too. I have a blog post about it too coming up! ha!

That's ridiculous! Oh, Philip Morris, you never cease to shock me.

I hear you. This is so ridiculous.

I'm glad you told us, but did you tell Kraft too? I think they need to know how offended you are. It's almost enought to make me avoid Kraft products - what about you?
