Have you been watching the Beauty Tip of the Day box on the right side on my blog? There have been a ton of great tips – but what I like most is that they are all easy and inexpensive!
I know that it is cliche that once women have been married for a while and have had babies that we sort of let go of ourselves a bit, but honestly for a lot of us that is true. I know it is definitely true for me. Hubby and I have been working on a lot of things lately and communicating more and being honest, during one of those talks Hubby admitted that he likes it when he comes home and I’ve put a little effort into my appearance. I totally can understand what he is saying because, frankly, I have seen myself in the mirror some days and scare myself! With the Beauty Tip of the Day I have found some great quick things that I can actually use to help primp, even if just a little, to make myself feel better and to let Hubby know I do care how I appear to him still after all these years. My favorite tip was how to do smokey eyes:
- Q-tips® cotton swabs are perfect for the delicate eye area because they have more soft cotton than any other cotton swab (*From the end of the stick to the tip of the swab)
- Plus, they are great to use instead of pricey makeup brushes
- Use your Q-tips® to apply a base shadow using a simple color, like bone, across the lid.
- Sweep a light shadow like white or bone just under the brow bone.
- Next, a darker shade is applied to the lower half of the lid – from the lashes up to the crease.
- Lastly, apply the darkest color to line the top lid. For this, twist a Q-tips® cotton swab to a point for more precision. Then, smudge with a Q-tips® cotton swab for a smoky effect
