BordersWe love the bookstore and Borders is the store we shop at most often. There is a great Borders at the mall closest to our home, plus there is another one about a block from Hubby’s work that we go to frequently after having lunch with him. Along with the huge selection of books, Borders also has a very nice selection of games and toys for kids of all ages. Today I went on a little shopping spree at Borders and was able to check off several names on my holiday gift list!
Borders Toys and GamesOne of my favorite things about their toys and games is that they have a ton of educational things. Brands like Creativity for Kids, Thinkfun, Scientific Explorer, ALEX and Blue Orange Games. If you have read my blog long enough you know we love science stuff so the science section is still a big hit with us. They even have those great MythBusters Kits that I reviewed a few weeks ago. I have 2 younger boys (my cousins) on my list to buy for and found them both some great science kits today.
Borders Toys and GamesMy other young cousin is a girly girl. Borders had a lot of great selections of dress up kits, craft kits, cooking kits (another avenue of science). She is more the creative type so I found a very cute kit for her to decorate some toy puppies.Borders Toys and GamesNot only do they have things for the younger kids, but also the older kids. I love all the kits they have that teach you to do something. Usually, there is a book along with supplies – now these kits don’t always have the top-of-the-line supplies, but generally they are decent enough and it gives folks a chance to sample a new interest without spending a fortune.

There are deals galore to be had as well. First you need to join the Borders Rewards program. I get coupons via email all the time from them and my shopping adds up for Borders Bucks. Today I had a 30% off any item coupon. At my Borders store they had Buy 2, Get the 3rd Free on the kids toys & activity kits – another bargain I took advantage of. Then they also had Buy 2, Get the 3rd Free on bargain items – yet another bargain I took advantage of. I saved $32.00 today with those deals! Oh, and just a side note for you homeschoolers – they are homeschool friendly and you can get an educator’s discount for items you use in your home classroom, just ask at the checkout for details.

Thank you to Borders for the generous offer for me to shop today and for the very generous giveaway for my readers! I was thrilled with the selections available today and we will continue to be a Borders family for a long, long time!
