deLuxe FURminator Review & Giveaway

I love, love, love my 3 cats, Peaches, Lottie, and Ozzie, but I do not love all their fur. Enter the FURminator! If you use this regularly - and that is the trick because just owning it doesn't make the fur come off on its own LOL - you will be amazed at how much lose fur you can remove from your cats and dogs.

I actually have the original FURminator and am always amazed at how well it works. The other day I was sent the new deLuxe FURminator to try out on the cats. Even more amazing! Honestly, either of the FURminator tools works better than any other grooming tool I have tried for my cats. The one big precaution is to NOT use this if they are matted anywhere - take them to a groomer to get out the matting, then use the FURminator regularly to prevent future matting.

Peaches is a short hair, Lottie a long hair, and Ozzie is part short and part long (crazy cat). The FURminator works great on all of their coats. In the picture this is just 5 good strokes of the deLuxe FURminator on each of them that removed that much fur from them - amazing isn't it? They have some great pictures and videos on the FURminator website of both cats and dogs that are worth taking a look at.

The only negative thing about the new deLuxe FURminator was the packaging, it was really a royal pain to open up the plastic - but luckily that is just a one time event. On the flip side the deLuxe FURminator has some new features which I think are fantastic

• There is a little button to push in with your thumb on the back that pushes the fur out of the teeth of the FURminator. It isn't that it is hard to remove the fur from the regular FURminator, but this button just makes the entire grooming process quicker and easier - LOVE IT!
  
  
• The handle on the deLuxe FURminator is more ergonomic. If you have a pet that is a bit squirmy, having the handle fit nicely in your hand with a good grippy texture too is a plus - one less thing to worry about slipping during grooming.
  
  
• I have to admit I like the new shiny purple color on the head of the cat version of the deLuxe FURminator better than the regular purple of the original FURminator. Purely a visual thing, but still a plus.
  

If you have someone who really loves their pets on your gift list, this would be a wonderful idea for them. Or if you are like me, Santa always brings my cats a gift of their own and this would be something nice for him to bring for your cats or dogs.
