If you were on Twitter this afternoon, you may have noticed the #StrollerBrigade event with @ResourcefulMom and @ChildDefender. This event was part of The Children’s Defense Fund to get the word out about an important initiative for children’s health care. While we all may have differing political views, I think most of us can agree that all the children in the USA should have more than adequate health care available to them.
From now thru November 8 there will be real live stroller brigades across the country plus there is a virtual stroller brigade also.
Here are some links to find more information:
- Join the Washington, DC Stroller Brigade on November 4 at 10:00 am on the West Lawn of the US Capitol
- Find out if there will be a local stroller brigade event on November 5-8 in your area
- Create your own local stroller brigade
- Stroller brigade toolkit (downloads/info/etc)
- Contact your members of Congress about this issue
- Media coverage of the stroller brigade
Again, regardless of your political views, just be aware at how many uninsured children there are in our country. We need to try to fix something – I don’t know what the answer is, but awareness is a good start!
