If you live in the St. Louis, Missouri area or plan to be visiting in the next couple of weeks I highly recommend visiting historic Main Street in St. Charles, Missouri. They have a huge Christmas Traditions event each year – night time is my preferred time to visit actually with all the warm glow of the lights, but daytime is good too – especially if the kids are coming along. They have wandering Santas from all over, other holiday characters, roasting chestnuts, pictures with Santa, caroling, parades and so much more – but all set back in time. Plus there are plenty of unique shops to visit to fill your holiday shopping list. You can get more details on the St. Charles Christmas website and on the St. Charles Visitor’s Guide website.
