With the health care crisis and debate over health care reform raging here in the USA, I thought we could use something to lighten the mood for just a bit. Remember playing the game Operation when you were a kid (or with your kids now as an adult)? I think every kid I knew growing up had this game and it was a favorite for all of us. Now there is a great computer game called Operation Mania with some of the same fun!
This is another fun game from Hasbro and EA Games. Taylor and I first found out about this game on our EA trip this summer. You are the doctor and need to treat your patients. They come in and you need to get them registered, into the operating room, and perform your doctorly duties – but hurry – there are a lot of sick people with “funatomy ailments”. There are a total of 35 levels and 5 hospitals on a zany continent. You can upgrade hospital equipment and hire staff as you go along. There are even some mini games like “butter-flies in the stomach” while you play.
This game is rated E for everyone, with some comic mischief. I think it would be great for a wide range of ages. You can see the ESRB’s full game summary here. The game is for Windows based PCs. You can even try the game out for free right now at OperationMania.com!
