REMOVEEZ Review & Giveaway

REMOVEEZTaylor hates, I mean really hates, bandages that stick on his skin. He has always been sensitive to things on his skin actually, I think it stems from him being a preemie at birth and having all those tubes and monitors stuck on and removed for the first week of his life. When the folks at REMOVEEZ asked if I would like to try out their product to “get stuff off your skin” I said yes thinking of Taylor and his bandages.

Our sample kit arrived the other day – we love testing kits like this. Today, we used it as our science for the day of homeschooling. REMOVEEZ included things like a Sharpie marker, bandages, and even tar for us to put on our skin and then take off using the REMOVEEZ. Taylor was very skeptical that it would work taking off the Sharpie, but after he saw me drawing all over my hands he agreed to try a “T” on his hand too. You can see in the pictures we both added tar and a bandage. I did one of each thing on both hands/arms – that way I could see the difference between the REMOVEEZ and just soap and hot water.

Robyn with all the stuff on her hands and armsFirst we added a few drops of REMOVEEZ to the Sharpie and rubbed it in using just a fingertip. This took about a minute or so on me to get all the writing off, but it was just a little rubbing with the product and then wipe off with a paper towel. I had also added some Sharpie Pen ink and Uniball Signo Ink Pen (the kind used to help stop check fraud) and they came off super easy. Then we added a couple of drops to our tar and we were shocked at how quickly that started to dissolve and easily wipe away. Next up was the dreaded bandage. Taylor really didn’t even want to put one on to start with, that’s how much he hates that glue, but he decided to give it a try since he knew if it worked it would solve a problem for him in the future. We put a couple of drops on one end of the bandage and massaged it in, then started lifting the edge – we had to add another drop under the part we had just lifted a little and then rubbed a tiny bit more. After that, that end of the bandage came right up and we did the same on the other side. No pulling of your arm hair or skin at all.

You can see on my other hand and arm that after washing the Sharpie and the tar were still there. Luckily I had the REMOVEEZ to finish cleaning it off. I just pulled off the other bandage and had a tackiness on my arm from the glue, so I used a drop of REMOVEEZ on it and it quickly came right off.

This product definitely works! It was created by parents to be safe for the entire family. It is a “citrus-based formula containing homeopathically prepared extracts of plants and flowers such as aloe, calendula, bee pollen and Hawaiian white ginger to soothe and moisturize the skin while cleansing. REMOVEEZ is dermatologist tested, cruelty free, and free of parabens, phthalates, and PPGs.” Along with the items we tried removing they say it can also remove temporary tattoos (great for when the kids go crazy with them), paint, sap (think Christmas trees), grease, and more. The smell is also very pleasant, we tried both the Eucalyptus/Orange and the Coconut/Orange, plus it comes in Lavender/Orange and Clove/Orange. You can buy REMOVEEZ at Amazon.com or find local retailers on their website.

Grace got a "temporary" tattoo for Halloween that lasted 3 entire weeks. I felt like a delinquent because it got all dark and dirty, but I couldn't get it off her skin. Finally, I used a scratchy washcloth and just scrubbed it. I know it hurt, but it looked SO bad.

So, yes, we could use this. :)

When I worked in a hospital, we had something similar. This would be great now for the temporary tattoos that the kids get that last forever it seems. I would have liked it for all the tape after I got out of the hospital.

Ugh..I got some pine pitch on my hands a few weeks ago, from hanging on to attic rafters while putting caulk in some cracks. Nothing took it off, not even nail polish remover or paint thinner. After about a week of showers, it FINALLY wore off.
The Removeez would be awesome for 'boo-boos' like this. Luckily, I had NO public appearances planned…or I would have worn gloves, for sure.

I think the best use of this would be for the tape that they use at the clinic after I get blood drawn–that is the WORST to get off and the sticky-ness stays for days! But my kids–they always seem to find my permanent markers no matter how many times I hide them!
