Tinycandy’s Gift – Holiday Book Review

I love holiday stories. Every family seems to have a little twist on things, especially Santa and how he does all that traveling or gets into everyone’s house, but I didn’t have any stores about candy canes until I read the book Tinycandy’s Gift by Susan Estes.

The story is about an elf, Tinycandy, who is different from the other elves. His ears are not pointed and he has trouble with his legs. Unfortunately, the other elves are not so nice to him. Not because of his physical differences, but because he has not yet discovered his unique talent. He finally tries his hand at cooking and comes up with, you guessed it, a candy cane.

The book goes on to say to the children reading it that when they wake up they will find a candy cane in their stocking – so make sure you have some on hand if you are going to have this story for the kids before Christmas. There is also a recipe even to make your own candy canes in the back of the book. A CD-Rom of a reading of the story is included with the book – the reader goes at a nice slow pace so it will be easy for young readers to follow along with the book.

This is a great little story to add to your family traditions each holiday season. Tinycandy’s Gift can be ordered directly from the author at her website.
