Tomorrow I am going to the country for the day. We are doing our Christmas for that side of the family. I know it just isn’t going to be the same without Grandma being there though. This is the first time I will be at the country since her funeral. I’m really happy to see the rest of the family, including our newest member, baby Kaydance. This year we are doing a Christmas Brunch instead of a dinner – nice change of pace. I made a spinach-artichoke quiche today to take up with us. I’ve also been cooking for Grandpa – some small frozen bowls of chili, ham and beans, and some cornbread muffins. He can just grab what he wants out of the freezer and pop it in the microwave for his supper at night (he eats his bigger meal at lunch time).
I’m sure I will survive – it’s just going to be weird having such happy things and such a sad thing all mixed into one day.
