Build-A-Bear is now in their 7th year of sponsoring the Huggable Heroes program. They will award ten kids, ages 8-18, $10,000 for their outstanding community service. $7,500 of it is a college scholarship and the other $2,500 is a donation to their special cause. The kids also get a trip here to St. Louis (the Build-A-Bear Headquarters) for the event and a camera.
Right now you can nominate a great kid you know for the 2010 Huggable Heroes – make sure to get your entries in by February 26, 2010 Even if you don’t know of a child right now to nominate, how about getting the kids in your life into volunteering? Huggable Heroes Trips for Volunteering is a great place to start. They give lots of ideas on how kids can make a difference, and who knows, maybe next year your child might even become a Huggable Hero?
