Bellybuds are so cool – it makes me want to be pregnant again just so I could use them (well almost). This is such a wonderful concept! If you are pregnant (or thinking about it) or have anyone in your life who is – read on!
So the gist of Bellybuds are that they are wearable speakers to put on your belly so the baby can hear the music or recordings you want them to. The “headphone” part tho is actually 2 pieces that gently adhere to your belly. This is so much better than trying to stretch out a pair of regular headphones over a pregnant belly! Plus, you just plug them right into your iPod (or whatever) and you can plug in your own earbuds/headphones and listen yourself at the same time. Is that cool or what?
When I was pregnant with Taylor many years ago, Hubby always use to talk to my belly so Taylor could hear him. It was very sweet, but I know sometimes Hubby thought it was a little silly. Bellybuds would have been great because we could have recorded Hubby reading a little story or just talking about whatever and then plug in and let baby listen! Thing about military families where Dad is deployed while mom is pregnant – that would be awesome to record Dad’s voice to play to baby while he is gone. How about in adoption situations? So many adoptions these days are at least semi-open and the adoptive parents take part in the delivery even. To have the adoptive parents record things for baby for the birthmother to play so baby can start recognizing those new voices right away would be amazing!
Obviously being able to play music for the baby would be just as wonderful as voices. I would imagine parents to be who are very musical would love for baby to experience their love of music before they are born. Regardless of what sounds you play for baby, Bellybuds are a wonderful solution to making it much easier to do.
