scrabble deluxeAre you a Scrabble fan? I am and I have always enjoyed the game. Taylor enjoys it as well – we used it for spelling as part of homeschooling a few years ago because you all know that I am a huge fan of using games for learning. One of these days I’m going to buy one of those really nice Scrabble Deluxe boards with the turntable underneath and the raised ridges on the game board so the tiles don’t slide around!

scrabble slamRight now Hasbro has a special promotion coupon to get a free Hasbro card game ($5.99 or less) like Scrabble Slam! with the purchase of any Hasbro game of $9.99 or more like Scrabble Flash (see my Scrabble Flash review – I love this game). Just visit Family Game Night on Facebook and click on the Special Offers tab.

Hasbro also has launched a Scrabble Facebook page dedicated to all things Scrabble. There are daily word challenges, words of the day, coupon offers, Scrabble news and tips, online gaming, and more features still to come.

Are your kids in grades 5-8 Scrabble players? They can register for the 2011 National School Scrabble Championship. You can register to compete in the competition which will be April 15-16 in Orlando, FL. Get all the details on the School Scrabble program.

I also found some Scrabble apps on iTunes. One I was pleasantly surprised with was the basic Scrabble app which you can play with friends only – I had no idea until today that they had that as I have been using Words with Friends app instead – time to switch! There is a free Scrabble and a paid Scrabble available.  Scrabble Blast is another free word game based on Scrabble. Now if you have an iPad that you play Scrabble on and you have an iPhone or iPod touch you can download Scrabble Tile Rack and use it as your tile rack when you play on your iPad – very cool indeed!

What is your favorite version of Scrabble? Who is your favorite opponent?

Disclosure: I received information from Hasbro about much of the Scrabble information in this post and I have worked with them in the past as well. I do love the game, feel free to ask to play next time I see you, and the opinions are my own. Transparency is everything.
