in St. Louis

This weekend, September 16-18, 2011 is the MOSAICS Festival for the Arts in St. Charles, MO (suburb of St. Louis). It is one of my favorite festivals because I just love looking at all the amazing art there and it is a fabulous location in the historic district. If you have kids then make sure to go by the Children’s Village area also for hands on projects. More information at

I found your blog thru a post “zapplication” made on Facebook. Though I don’t do the Mosaic show you write about, I am an artist making a living doing art shows. Great to see a show being talked about by someone who loves going to the show and appreciates what others work so hard to produce.

Yay! Glad you found me Pam! The Mosaic Festival here has been a long time favorite. It’s like an art museum to me but outside! We actually have several different art fairs in St. Louis throughout the year – I always love them. I so appreciate the time and effort and talent that goes into all the artist’s work and it is wonderful to be able to talk to them right then and see their passion and here about what inspires them in their art.

I grew up in philadelphia and there are a few areas of the city that have been covered in mosaic.  There’s one alleyway that is just stunning!  I hope you have fun!

I checked out their photo album…that is a fabulous lineup of artists! Some beautiful inlaid wood pieces, gorgeous ceramics and great jewelry. It looks like a nice show in terms of size too…not too many acres to cover in a day’s stroll. You are lucky to have such a lively art scene in your area.  :)

I love art festivals.  We have one in my small town and then of course Columbus had a huge one every spring.  I love the fall and winter ones too!
