On my way to the @TMobile event wearing my Tmobile pink. #ces #ces12 So yes, I’m sad I’m not at CES, but my bestie Danyelle (aka The Cubicle Chick) is there and she has texted and tweeted about her trip and called me today with a recap of what happened on Day 1 (well at least the day up till that point). I thought I would share.

  • Danyelle was very impressed that she saw several companies (she mentioned Samsung and T-Mobile) had bloggers at their booths at CES to help visitors and answer questions. This is far more helpful than having people in the booth who do not really understand the products by using them on a regular basis. Bravo for the brands who are recognizing the power of bloggers and people who are already enthusiastic for their brand!
  • SO MANY PEOPLE!
  • She is dividing up her days by the 4 different areas mostly – there are 3 different wings plus stuff at the Venetian. Danyelle is a very organized lady at all times! Today she saw mostly audio/visual items.
  • Microsoft and iHome – two of the places I really wanted to see – she will be at tomorrow!
  • The Samsung folks treated her like a rockstar in the Samsung SMART Lounge today and there were several Asian attendees who all wanted their picture taken with Danyelle – they adored her.
  • Her tech pic of the day was hands down the Samsung Galaxy Note. She knew when she saw it that I would love it too. It is a phone plus a small tablet all-in-one! I cannot wait to try this out myself – she said it is wonderful to use!

That galaxy note looks awesome. I was surprised you weren’t there! You are one of the most tech savvy people I know online. :)

I was supposed to go – just had to cancel my trip last Monday – not a happy camper about it L

Of all the events I see tweeted about online I have always thought that hands down CES is one that would be incredibly fun to go to. To see all the upcoming gadgets would be exciting and to be able to see what they do would be interesting. Thanks to Danyelle and you for the update! Cant wait to see what happens in the iHome!

did she say anything about the Ultrabooks? Curious about those coming out!

  • TheCubicleChick

Very concise and accurate round up. To answer Candy’s question, there are several ultra or thin notebooks being unveiled at CES. I will be getting a closer look at them tomorrow and will share pics and details. :)

They’ve got 3 artist’s apps for it (would love to try these!) plus a personalize-your-own Comic Book app…supercool!

Sorry you couldn’t go.  I would have been interested in seeing your take!  The gal on Good Morning America was there yesterday and showed some pretty cool stuff.  I really liked the guitar thingie that you put your iPad into – and “strum” the iPad to play.  Looks like fun and not really expensive!

So sad you couldn’t go Robyn :( I’ve been loving all the updates on twitter & I heart Samsung, they’re really “getting it” in terms of social media & reaching out to consumers. That Galaxy Note looks slick!

I hear the words Samsung Galaxy a lot and I’m still kind of confused.  I 1st thought it was a tablet then two of my friends said their phones were galaxy’s but they have prepaid phone services. Then I heard another friend say they were getting a galaxy and they dont have a prepaid service…so which is it!  Usually prepaid phones are different than the phones you can get through a monthly service…

Ah so sorry you couldn’t go, such a shame really especially because you seem to know so much about technology and this sort of thing…I however remain totally lost. Glad she is keeping you up to date though-however if I am honest, when you review or discuss something to do with technology I actually understand most of it. Ah well maybe next time.
