#ItsAllGood Help fight child hunger in the USA

in Living

  • 1 in 5 children in the USA have hunger as part of their reality
  • Approximately 16 Million children are in homes without consistent access to adequate amounts of food

Even in families with parents who work it just is not enough and they do not know where their next meal will come from. To help with this problem ecomom.com co-founders Jody Sherman and Emily Blakeney are championing the “It’s All Good” nation-wide giving initiative to feed children across the USA. For every purchase made through ecomom.com, no matter how big or small, the site will donate three healthy, nutritious meals for a day for a child. Their goal is to feed at least 100,000 hungry kids in the USA this year. They work with local programs across the country to provide assistance to families in need. Actor David Arquette is joining in the cause – he is a long-term supporter of Feeding America.

One of the things I really love about this program is that they are donating not just any food, but the same nutritious and organic foods they sell and serve their own families! We can drive this campaign by making purchases from ecomom.com of these same items ourselves. Along with organic and natural foods, they also carry so many more items for us that they make sure are as healthy as they can. I love that their product descriptions include so much information about what products are made of, what standards they meet, and why they are a good option.

Remember that EVERY ORDER, regardless of size, will mean that a child in the USA will have 3 healthy meals for a day. Please take a few moments to visit ecomom and place an order to help.

It’s All Good! What products did you find on ecomom.com that you will consider ordering?

Disclosure: I have been compensated to share this information with my readers. However, I really do think this is a great cause and would not have considered it if I did not. The opinions stated are my own.

I like to see celebrities actually use their star power for good!  It is sad to see that so man children domestically are going hungry day after day and we are the greatest nation.  Charity starts at home.  derbycitynaturals [at] gmail [dot] com

1 in 5 doesn’t surprise me at all and so many people don’t realize during summer that a lot of children participating in the school lunch / breakfast programs are going without. Parents have such a tough time during the summer months.. and luckily there is a program even in our small town that helps- the only drawback are for the families living too far to walk.
I would buy probably something like the outdoors items since all of their foodstuffs look to be toddler and below.

Yes, tannawings, you are exactly right.  There are lots and lots of kids out there in free or reduced lunch programs who have families that can barely afford to feed them one meal a day, and have a whole summer ahead of them trying to figure out how to feed their kids.

This is one of the things that worries me most because kids don’t deserve to go hungry.  Whether their parents honestly can’t afford it, or if the parents are spending it on drugs, alcohol, whatever, either way the kids are just as hungry.  I wish school cafeterias could stay open during the summer, to serve as a food kitchen for those kids.

It’s a really good time of year to donate healthy, filling food to local food pantries, not that there is a bad time to donate.

I looked at the website, and I think the reusable lunch sacks are great.  They’re BPA free, made of “laminated canvas”, and I think they would even be good to keep a spare water bottle cold in the car.

It’s nice to see celebrites using there star power to bring problems to the light. I’m posting this article in as many social sites as I can.

Thanks for creating awareness in Ecomom and fighting child hunger in the USA by providing 3 healthy meals for a day with each order! That is really fantastic!

It’s great to see celebrities doing  something great for the underprivileged, but I think we can all do more! With statistics as ‘daunting’ as the beforementioned, it baffles me how our government can spend billions of dollars on senseless war when children are going hungry every night?!!

I’m glad you decided to cover this important issue ibn your blog. We all hear about hungry children in other parts of the world but childhood hunger is a big problem in America too.
