This weekend is Labor Day and there will be a lot of grilling happening and burgers are an American favorite. I grew up with Dad grilling burgers often and now Hubby grills even more often. My mom and Aunt Jay used to eat burgers a certain way and I quickly adopted that as my favorite too. It may sound a little crazy, but I promise you will love it if you try!
Here is the easy recipe for Robyn’s Best Burger. Grill your burger as you like. Hubby uses McCormick’s Montreal Steak Seasoning in the ground meat I know. He then adds his special adaptation of Sweet Baby Ray’s original BBQ Sauce (use whatever is your favorite sauce). Now top with 1 slice of American cheese and then pull off the grill. You need an onion hamburger bun for these – my favorite brand is Pepperidge Farms. Put your burger on the bun and then top with a few Ruffles original potato chips – I’m sorry but it MUST be Ruffles, I’ve tried it with other brands but none are the same. Then top with your favorite baked beans. I prefer beans with a lot of brown sugar and I like them cold – but whatever your preference is will do. Top with the bun. Smoosh it down a bit and ENJOY!
What are your favorite toppings for grilled burgers in your family? If you have something unique that is not on the list be sure to leave a comment telling us about it!
