Elvis is Santa’s Helper

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo on TLC

So last night I watched Here Comes Honey Boo Boo on TLC. Don’t roll your eyes, it was late, it was on TV. Anyway this show is about the family seen above. They are self-proclaimed rednecks and truly do fit Jeff Foxworthy’s definition of redneck which was “a glorious lack of sophistication”. For what it is worth though, I do like that the family does seem to have a good sense of family togetherness and having fun.

The funniest part to me last night was when Honey Boo Boo, the youngest daughter who competes in pageants, is with a pageant coach learning a new dance routine. The routine is based on Elvis Presley music and dance moves. At one point the coach asks the girl, “do you know who Elvis is?”, Honey Boo Boo (age 6) replies “yeah, he is one of Santa’s helpers”.    …….think about it……. Elvis…… elves…….   Bwah hah hah!!!! That totally cracked me up and I had to share it with you all!

Have you all watched this show? Thoughts?

I’ve never heard of this show, but it sounds…interesting…?

I would like to see this show cancelled. It makes all folks from the South look like total morons. The pig on the kitchen table bit makes us look like we all keep livestock in the house. We’re barely past the Little Abner days and really don’t need any more black eyes.

Hee hee … that’s hysterical. Thanks for sharing! I have not seen the show but might have to check it out now!

I have not watched this show…there are so many stupid reality shows to choose from, LOL. The hubster does not suffer idiots well, so I could never watch this if he was home. Plus I would get a browbeating from him for having it on. I’m not sure that celebrating and rewarding bad taste is a good idea. Some folks are just going to love love love it, I am sure.

The joke is funny, but the whole little girls in pageants thing to me is just a mainstream version of child pornography.

This is one of those shows that’s a guilty pleasure. I’m just amazed at some of things they say and do. My favorite is that they believe if you fart, you’ll loose weight :) I’m sure a lot of it is planned, but it’s worth it for a good laugh.

I haven’t watched this show yet but I see tons of people talking about it! Funny. :D

I heard about it for the first time yesterday and I really have no interest in it. I am no too big on reality shows in general. So to sit there and laugh at a family that everyone considers “redneck” and weird seems inconsiderate to me. On the flip side, they are the ones trying to get their 15 minutes of fame and they will certainly get it regardless of how many people actually watch the show since it is the topic of discussion around the US. So if they want to be laughed at they will get what they want.

Im getting really sick of realilty tv! Im not personally a fan of pagents for little girls but everyone seems to love toddlers and tiaras and people seem to be watching this show. Heck, if Jersey Shore can last this long im pretty sure any reality show can be sucessful!

I don’t watch that show, but her answer is funny! Kids really say the darndest things some times!

I haven’t caught the show on … yet. I think I may be getting reality tv burnout? Some are over-dramatized others boring as dripping molasses. And some just portray these families as … I don’t even know the word to use here.

I do like the Elvis/Elves comparison. I guess at one point Elvis was a bit of an elf, didn’t he giveaway cars and such at random or am I thinking of another celebrity.

I dont catch a lot of TLC so havent watched this one. I thought the show (because of the name) was one of those teen pregnancy shows and skipped it. I might have to watch it just to see what they say!

I’ll have to check this show out if I can tear myself away from the Real Housewives shows. ;)

The Elvis thing is funny:) It’s hard for me to watch the whole pageant thing when little girls are involved, but the family seems like they could be likeable.. if we had cable, this could be a late night guilty pleasure for me..

I’ve never seen it & until I saw a bunch of people talking about how stupid it was on Facebook a few days ago, I had never heard of it. Not my kind of programming.
