This little piggy….

Nanoblock pig

Last night I finally took some time to build my nanoblock pig kit that I received from the nice folks at Ohio Art during the Sweet Suite event. I just love teeny tiny things like this – apparently I inherited this from my mom because she has the same reaction to very small items as I do. I just noticed that recently when we were with Mom and we saw something little and she reacted and Hubby looked at me and pointed out we are the same.

Anyway, back to the pig. Nanoblocks are micro-sized building blocks. These are not for the little kids at all as the smallest piece is only 4x4x5mm. They can easily be lost or eaten – they recommend ages 8 and up. I put the quarter in the photo to give you an idea of how small these blocks really are. The little single square and round pieces were the hardest to work with, but not impossible. It took me about 30 minutes to build this cute little guy.

He is happily sitting on my desk now with my other toys. I think I will have to get more of these sets. They might be fun as stocking stuffers this holiday also or little gifts for other holidays. They have many more animals, buildings, and objects available. You can buy nanoblocks online or at stores around the county.

As a grown-up, do you still like toys like this as much as I do?

Disclosure: As mentioned I received a sample item at an event. The opinions are my own.

How adorable! I recently ordered several Nanoblock kits, because I found them at a good price and thought I could keep them on hand as gifts. I haven’t tried them myself yet, but I hope the person I decide to give them to has fun with them!

I have been looking at some of the unique kits from Nanoblocks. Glad to hear that hubby and I are not the only ones that will still build and display items . Off to check out possible Chanukah gifts.

Goodness that is an itty bitty pig! You know what it would be fun as is a magnet =but then you would have to glue as you go.!

Robyn, can you add a black block down the middle of Her (she is pink so would not call her a him LOL) back to show where to put my dime?

One could keep a box of these in the desk drawer and play with them while you are on hold or something! How fun! I loved regular legos as a kid. Not that I could actually build anything good, LOL.

I LOVE these. I didn’t see these when I was in NY for BlogHer but on the other hand I didn’t get to go to the Sweet Suite event. My son also likes things like this, I think the guitar would rock him. ;) I think I like the ducks! The giant panda is cute too, I think his name is a bit of a pun.

The pig is cute. I do enjoy playing with toys sometimes too. I usually play with my 5 year old cousin. We usually play with cars, action figures, or Legos.

I’m a big dork and I proudly have toys and knick-knacks all over my house. I still love discovering fun toys. Legos were some of my favorite things growing up; I love the catharsis that putting something together gives you. This is cute and sounds like you had a good time putting him together. Oink oink!
