I know many of you hear about all the swag (stuff) bloggers receive at the BlogHer conference. I actually take very little (compared to many). The conference also provides a room to drop off your unwanted things you may have picked up so it doesn’t go to waste. The photos are just to give you an idea that we are not bringing home thousands of dollars worth of stuff like some think.

Disclosure: The above items were given to me by various brands and PR firms while I attended a #blogher12 blogging conference and other events. Opinions are my own.

Oh wahhh….it’s still more free stuff than most non-bloggers are using. What a self-centered post – “Yeah, we get free stuff, but it’s not really expensive free stuff!”

Sorry, that is not how I meant it at all. I was simply showing that it is not what many non-bloggers think that it is. Yes, I am very lucky to get the items that I do though and many of these will go as prizes to my readers also.

Wow and yikes. You know you’re welcome to put out the money for conferences to attend if you would like to. We are all very lucky to get what we do and we use that to bring it to you, our readers.

On another note, thanks for showing the items you brought home, Robyn. Being at the same place at the same time (around about times) it’s neat to see this because the things I returned home with differ from what you have!

I’m glad she posted the pics. I watched the Sweet Suite event during a twitter party and was so curious to know what they were getting in their bags

I definitely did not take it that way at all Robin. I actually thought when I saw the pictures that it looked pretty tame! I appreciate you showing what you took and also not feeling like you had to take more.

My kids lost their minds over the Duck Tape sheets. I’ll be spending some money on that.

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com/ Robyn’s Online World

Yes, I got a sheet of the Hunter Orange color for Hubby – he was a very happy camper with that.

Shhh, my kids haven’t found the duck tape sheets … yet :)

  • nanlara

Are you kiddin? I must be greedy. I’d take it all! LOL I stayed home and watched the kiddles so another Mommy could go and have some me time! Thanks for sharing. Cool stuff! Hope you had tons of fun.

That was so nice of you to stay home and watch the kids so someone else could attend! Hopefully she shared some goodies with you!

p.s. i am a non blogger and did not take offense to the post/pictures. Especially remembering how last weeks post mentioned giving your extra stuff to your mom to donate.
i do have a question though..is that some sort of angry bird thingy towards the front?

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com/ Robyn’s Online World

      Thank you J

The Angry Birds are squishy ball things. I’ll try to remember to post a pic of them soon in more detail.

Mashables, right? My kids have one and LOVE that thing!

  • bywordofmouth

oh the swag and the stampedes … count me out, but count me in for girl time ;)

I got many similar things, and I gave most of it to friends and other bloggers. The Cloud B Monkey though, I didn’t give up. :)

You make a good point, we don’t get laptops, new cars, and trips just handed to us. Well, I suppose SOME bloggers do, but certainly not the majority. This kind of swag is just a small perk.

Nice Swag. It is great that companies give out items that people will actually use and enjoy.

Are those Mad Lib band aids?????? I want to know if such a thing exists.

Also, as a non-blogger, I look at blogging as your job, your chosen profession, and BlogHer like a convention. I don’t see any difference in what bloggers get at conventions/conferences than a bunch of dentists getting free top of the line sonic toothbrushes or whatever.

Robyn I kid you not I saw a pic where someone had 24 (yes 24) bags of stuff! I have to wonder if they were flying what it cost them to bring that mess home! That bunch up there looks like you and your Mom would make good use of it in the baskets, and some I bet is just plain fun to play with :) I hope you had a wonderful time!

I think it’s possible that I ended up with a variety of 24 reusable bags. I gave some of the food samples to homeless that accepted a cup of coffee or food instead of money. I also gave the security guard at the hilton any of those bags I was going to throw out, he was SO happy! Man, I gave him some cupcakes that were AWESOME! I was sad that he told me no one else had given them anything.

Bat snot! Do I see hair chalk in there? I was so tired I thought I had accidentally drank something with alcohol in it, maybe it was some jet lag? Over stimulation?

Nice haul! Is that a Peter Rabbit doll? Adorable! I think it looks like a great assortment of swag!

  • Doodle741

What is your favorite item from your swag? And what is “Crappy Birthday”?

  • http://www.facebook.com/tiffany.winner.9 Tiffany Winner

  • Ravzie

So are you expected to write about all the things that they hand out?

  • GlArthy

I pick ‘Family Feud’. Is it a board game or guessing with cards?

  • Shannon Whitfield

Adorable Peter Rabbit.. my daughters would love that.
