Fall means new TV shows! I am pleasantly surprised that I have liked the first two new sitcoms I have watched this season. Both happen to be on NBC.
Go On stars Matthew Perry who most of us know as Chandler on Friends. His wife recently died in a car accident while she was texting. Sad, but I was glad to see them actually use that as the story line to bring attention to this problem. He is attending a support group for people going through transitions. There were plenty of funny moments, but also those more poignantly reminding us of the loss all of us have felt. I have my DVR set to a season pass for this one.
The New Normal was really good, except for the fact that NeNe Leaks of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is in it. Ugh – I am just not a fan of hers and that carried over when watching the show. It seems like her role is minor though thank goodness. Ellen Barkin plays Jane or Nana and is sort of a modern day Archie Bunker. Her granddaughter and great granddaughter have headed to California and the granddaughter, Goldie, decides to become a surrogate for a gay couple. The premise is that our view of a “normal” family really has changed. Again, I have a season pass on my DVR for this sitcom also.
Have you seen either of these shows? What are your thoughts?
Disclosure: None, just sharing shows I’m watching with my readers.
