NickMom follow up

Last week I shared with you all the disappointment in Nickelodeon and Viacom for their lack of respect toward the parent blogging community.

Little has been done by Nickelodeon/Viacom (they own NickMom). You can read Amy Bair’s latest updates about more instances of them taking other people’s work and even photos of a baby and the bit of response from NickMom. I am still incredibly disappointed with them.

The biggest thing to have happen is that Sarah of Nerdy Apple actually quit working for NickMom because of all of this. She knows that her work was original, but being lumped in with other non-original work was not a good thing. Please take a moment to read Sarah’s post about quitting her only paying job and show her some support (comments, following, offering her a job, etc.) for taking a stand.

I left a comment there. That was so sad :( she did the right thing, though..)

Kudos to Sarah for standing her ground. I’m on my way over to read her post. She deserves support.

I have/had some posts lined up with Nickelodeon and I’m torn on it. I just can’t bring myself to publish the content knowing what I now know about NickMom.

Viacom is a big name, we as bloggers have a voice and I really feel like this is a situation in which we should use our voices responsibly and stand for what we believe in.
