On November 4 it will be time to change your clocks again. It is also the 25th anniversary of the annual Change Your Clock Change Your Battery program. Energizer and the International Association of Fire Chiefs are working again to raise awareness on the importance of working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors to keep us safe in our homes.
38% of fatal fire injuries occur in homes with no smoke alarms
24% of fatal fire injuries occur in homes in which at least once smoke alarm is present but fails to operate, frequently due to dead or missing batteries.
Please make sure that you change your batteries in your alarms, or replace the entire alarm if they are more than 8-10 years old. It is a good time to go over fire escape plans with everyone in the house also.
