So today was the big launch of Windows 8. Did you install Windows 8 today? You all know that I did! Above is currently what my start screen looks like, but I have lots of playing around to do with my tiles to get them where I want them.
I have been running the pre-release on my #WindowsChampions laptop for a while, but with the full release today I put it on my Dell desktop computer. It is very simple and painless for any of you who want to upgrade.
Test your computer to make sure it is compatible with this easy Upgrade Assistant. If you are compatible you can just go from there to buy Windows 8 Pro for $39.95. That is for the download, if you want a physical DVD it is another $15. You can pay by credit card or PayPal (yay!). After the purchase it starts preparing and then installing. The entire process took me less than an hour earlier today with no problems. Even non-geeky people should be able to handle this install I think.
Once you have it installed make sure you click on the “Store” tile to find tons of apps (free and paid) for Windows 8. There is lots of customizing you can do with Windows 8 which is what I will be doing tonight.
I am happy to try to answer any questions about Windows 8 or at least point you in the right direction if I do not know the answer myself.
Disclosure: I am part of the #WindowsChampions team and receive certain perks from Microsoft as part of that team. Opinions are always my own.
