Meet Windows 8

Friday is the official launch of Windows 8. I told you early this week the 8 Reasons I’m Excited About Windows 8. Now it is here! I will have lots of posts coming up over the next few months about elements of the new operating system, but if you want to learn a bit more right away check out the Windows 8 site for videos and information.

If you happen to be one of my St. Louis readers you can find out more live in person on Friday! While we do not (yet) have a year round Microsoft Store, we do have a Microsoft Holiday Store at Saint Louis Galleria that opens Friday, October 26, 2012 (right by J. Crew on the lower level). You can come in the store and try out Windows 8, new computers, Surface tablets, and more first hand. There will be free ongoing Windows 8 classes in the store also. Say hi if you see me at the store on Friday!

Disclosure: I am part of the #WindowsChampions team and receive certain perks from Microsoft as part of that team. Opinions are always my own.

I am still not thrilled about Win8 but then again I went kicking and screaming when they made the switch from XP. I guess my biggest complaint has always been so many things dont work (that are still good) and you either have to upgrade everything or wait it out until things wear out. I still miss playing some games from XP!

Have fun Robyn! It seems like an exciting time to be at a special Microsoft launch. Looking forward to your Reviews on how it works for you or how you will use.

Wish I wasn’t 1500 miles away and could be there for this. Like to get a close-up look at Win8

Cool! Going to see if there is something like this in Cbus…not sure if we have a store or not…didn’t even know there were Microsoft stores to be honest! LOL

I wouldn’t know the difference between Windows 8 and Windows anything else. It is all so Greek and intimidating to me. I just know if I can turn it on, play a few games, send tweets and emails…I’m good.

It’s a shame and it’s my own ignorance. I have no doubt there’s a whole ‘nother world out there I know nothing about.
