Autumn Day Trips

Last weekend Hubby and I took a day trip to see my Grandpa in Perry, Missouri and it was lovely with all of the autumn colors along the way. Another great drive I love in the fall is going down Highway 44 from St. Louis to Springfield and then 65 south through Branson, Missouri and down into Arkansas. The colors are just gorgeous down there and acres and acres of trees along the highway.

So what is a favorite autumn day trip in your area? Do you prefer to be the driver or the passenger?

October in Indiana is amazing. Really, anywhere you go around here is beautiful this time of year. One of my favorites is going just a few minutes north into Michigan, the scene is breathtaking (we’re close to the state line..) Or 20 minutes away into Amish country and there’s nothing but quaint farmhouses and fields.. and miles of trees bright with color as far as the eye can see. Gorgeous! I like to be either the passenger or driver, doesn’t matter:)

I love to go on a day trip anywhere in the autumn. The trees look wonderful with their changing colors. It is my choice to be the passenger because I can relax and enjoy the view.

I usually drive. We have some attractive fall foliage in Miss., but I understand that one has to go further north to really see a show of colors. I hope to go to a family meeting in a couple of weeks along some country highways and see some foliage.

My parents just went to the northeast on a tour, but the colors had not started yet. Big bummer!

I love to take fall roadtrips in Zion’s National Park outside St. George, Utah. I like being the driver and the passenger. Last night I took a trip through Seal Beach, Ca. The shops on Main Street were darling, and a nip of autumn in the air. Delish to the senses.

I would love to go to both of those places!

I prefer to be the passenger so I can really enjoy it and take pictures. Sometimes in the fall we take the long way home from Buffalo Bills games (we live in Rochester) and instead of taking the throughway we take the country roads through farms and wineries to see the foliage changing!
