windows key start screen tip for Windows 8

For those of you who have upgraded to Windows 8 (it is only $39.95 if you missed my post), here is an easy tip for you. The Start Screen with all the tiles you can get to by hovering then clicking in the lower left corner, touching lower left corner if you have a touch capable device, you can hover or touch the top right corner to bring out the sidebar and click the Start Screen icon there also.

But the easiest way on a traditional desktop or laptop with a full keyboard is to simply tap the Windows key. That is the one that has the little Windows symbol on it. I’ve circled it in yellow in the image for you. By the way, if you tap it again, your screen will minimize the Start Screen and go back to where you were. Try it!

Still really on the fence about win8 I dont care for the design it looks way too much like a windows phone- maybe it is the tile look. Can that be changed to icons?

once again you are making me realize how archaic my PC is…still on Vista here and hating it…LOL….fingers crossed that my tax return is enough to enable me to get a new PC this year!

I’m glad you circled it for me on the keyboard. I had no idea I even had such a key. What is it for if we don’t have Windows 8?
