Holiday Stress Relief Giveaway

I know that I tend to stress out during the holiday season and that I am not alone. So this giveaway is just a reminder for you to take a few minutes now and then for yourself during the holiday madness. Some ideas of things you can do for a bit of stress relief….

  • Get a massage, mani, pedi, or other spa treatment
    Find a local spa you like and treat yourself to some sort of relaxing treatment. Try to book an appointment when they are not as busy also. Go by yourself also so you do not have to chit chat with anyone.
  • Take a bubble bath or long shower
    Make some time for a bubble bath or long shower (not everyone is a bath person). Have someone else taking care of the kids if you need to – just so you can close the bathroom door and not be interrupted and relax.
  • Get up before everyone else and enjoy the quiet
    Take 10 minutes before you wake anyone else in the house to just wake up, have a cup of tea or coffee, enjoy what is outside your window. No tech during this time either – just you and your thoughts.

Everyone is a bit different, but just make time for yourself. Anything you find relaxing and quiet. Taking the time to de-stress yourself will wear off to your family too! And now, a little gift from me to help you unwind.

Hmm…I tend to try and relax in ways I normally try to relax during the holidays. I watch some fun TV, or go out with friends, maybe read, etc. It all depends on how much time I have. :)

There is a lot to be said for a hot soaking bath with destressing herbal essential oils of lavender and eucalyptus! It always makes me feel wonderful.

Some cold mornings when the frost is thick and you can see your breath puff out in white clouds, I will take a steaming cup of hot chai outside and watch the sun rise. It is so relaxing and just invigorating at the same time.

On Sundays like today I try to destress by watching football on tv…is a great way as long as the Packers are winning. If they lose…it is not so great, lol!

sometimes if I am feeling stressed, I will just stop what I am doing and lay down in a dark cool room for a while. Sometimes I nap and sometimes I just rest my eyes and regroup. IT always helps!

to destress during the holidays, I try and focus what we are celebrating and the real reason of the celebrations. Sadly one of my closest and very best friends passed away Friday morning. I had just spoken to her Christmas eve as we usually speak every couple days since she was diagnosed with cancer last year. how do you destress when this happens??.. I have been crying all weekend, but then I remembered this, .. for me personally, it was to refocus… and focus on our faith and beliefs… and to know that she isn’t suffering… then to focus on the great memories…this is a hard one to get through and I will have to refocus much as I go to pick up the phone or send her an email and then deal with the emotional realities of her going to her new home in heaven… knowing her then , she would probably agree with me when I say, what I really need right now to destress body as well as mind, is a good massage, mani and pedi.. something I havent treated myself with for a very long time!

I was so tired but I could not relax, the Christmas clutter was just way to overwhelming. 5 hours later it now sparkles & I am relaxing on the couch. I can’t have clutter around me it simply ends up cluttering my thoughts.

We had our first baby the beginning of December: regardless of what needs done, I enjoy cuddling with him, especially when I’m feeling overwhelmed. :)
