Microsoft Mahjong App for Windows 8

Another fun game for those running Windows 8. Microsoft Mahjong is available free in the Windows App Store. I play this mainly on my Microsoft Surface, but I will occasionally play it on my desktop or laptop also. Mahjong is basically a matching game – find like pairs of tiles and clear the board. It sounds simple, and some boards are, but some are more difficult.

I think the Microsoft Mahjong app is beautiful. I have tried many mahjong apps on all of my devices over the past couple of years and this is my favorite so far. There are four different themes to select from which give a twist on the games and then several levels of game play. You can just play straight games like that plus there are the Daily Challenge Puzzles. Each day three new special puzzles are put up and you earn points for completing them. To be honest though – I don’t know what the points are for other than just an award. I would love it if I could use them for something, but that’s okay.

The game is free as I said, but ad supported. Every 5 games or so a video ad plays before the game starts. It is really not a big deal. Plus, if you scroll all the way to the right on the main screen there is an ad – you never really even see this.

Great game, thumbs up. Rated E for Everyone. If you play, add me as a friend “RobynsWorldGame”

P.S. The Windows 8 $39.95 Upgrade Special ends soon!

I was addicted to Mahjong! I’m not a big fan of the ads. I used to play it on my computer on an older website but haven’t played it in a while

I was so excited to see someone else besides me, loves to play Mahjong! My husband just bought me a laptop for Christmas that already had Windows 8 built in! At first, it was different, and hard to manage. After a little time, everything came easy! As an extra BONUS…. Mahjong was included as an App!! Thank you for sharing!!!

There are not many computer games that appeal to me, but mah jong is one of them. I’m not sure whether I should check this out now, or pretend I don’t know about it.

I have never played Mahjong… I wonder if I would like it?!

I think it was either my grandpa or my dad that taught us kids how to play mahjong. My grandpa had a really nice set that he’d pull out. I haven’t really played since I was a kid. I don’t have Windows 8, but the pics you shared look sharp!

I wonder what the difference between an app and a program is – I used to think that apps were only on mobile devices, or were just small programs. Now I guess they can be on pc’s also. It’s nice that Windows offers high-quality apps such as “Microsoft Mahjong App for Windows 8″ for free.

Are you kidding me!? That game is one of my favorites. Thanks for the post

I love mah jong! The one I use is pretty plain. But I think that makes it easier to find the tiles I am looking for. That one is really pretty.

I have a disc with this game and love playing it with the many background and option selections. My favourites are the tiles with sound – e.g. pic #2 above for me says ‘Sorry’ whenever I select an incorrect match. One set I find hardest is when you see a matching balloon and can’t get at it, but, that is what the game is all about. Mahjongg is a beautiful game and I hope that audible feature was also extended to the app as well.
