My Wish List for 2013

in Living

The new year is here and I thought I would share my wish list for 2013. These are not resolutions because if I call them that I surely will not do them. Of course I would love world peace, the end of hungry, and all of that stuff – I think those things are a given. These are more my personal wishes for the upcoming year.Checklist Graphic

  1. Get healthier
  2. Get back to cooking at home more
  3. Redecorate my home office
  4. Try out my new convertible as soon as the weather is nice
  5. Learn at least a little bit more Spanish
  6. Visit, call, and write to Grandpa more
  7. Stay more up to date on email
  8. Get a new hair style
  9. Use my passport to travel to another country for fun
  10. Continue to grow my social media business

What do you hope to accomplish in 2013?

Happy New Year!

Healthier is #1 on our list, find new home, craft more, get back to creating baked goods LO & I are trying to become bilingual. Really try to go see sons fight next month I support the sport just hard to sit & watch your own compete. Start a blog & continue to learn everything about technology.
And keep our family resolution, spend more “us” time. Sometimes we find less is more. Happy New Year.

Great list! What language are you going to try and learn? What kind of fights does your son do?

  • Ashley

I love this. My husband and I just did one and number one for both of us is getting pregnant!!!

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

That is a great thing to have on your list! I wish you much success in the baby making in 2013!

  • Katherine

I haven’t made one yet still thinking about it I guess not procrastinating should be top on my list

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

Making lists helps me with that

  • http://historyinculture.wordpress.com Robin O

Better time management is at the top of my list!
(p.s. is there a difference between making resolutions and making a “wish list”?)

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

Yes, it is not as bad to hear “my wish didn’t come true” as “I failed at my resolution”

  • Ravzie

My list is similar to yours, actually – except I do not have a new convertable, LOL. Or a social media business. But I really could stand to lose a few pounds, exercise and eat better, that I know and have been ‘trying’ to accomplish for some time. We have so many Spanish speaking patients these days that it would really be great if I could communicate with them more easily. I am getting pretty good at pantomine, however. And I have a list of things to do on the house!!! All I need is the money to start one of those projects….

    Happy New Year Robyn!

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

We have so many folks around here that speak Spanish also and even online I have lots of Spanish speaking friends. I know only a few little words here and there and would like to try to learn enough to at least understand the gist of what they are saying.

      • Ravzie

I’ve taken classes more than once, and worked on it at home with an online program. Can I speak? That would be a NO! And what little I can say is useless, because I can’t understand the answers, LOL.

  • Lauren

I ended up with the flu for New Years, so my first wish list item is to get rid of it ! And then get finished moving.

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

      Feel better!

  • GlArthy

I was learning French and never got far enough to speak, then I stopped so all those phrases may be lost for me. Tops on my list is to learn French, keep reading new technology stuff, and continue to help folks with acts of kindness.

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

      Great list!

  • Valerie C.

I really like your list. Mine is to finally get serious about getting back to my pre-babies weight…..they haven’t been babies for years lol. Also, I’m now dedicated to doing random acts of kindness. I’m very serious about making people happy. My daughter lost a friend in Newtown and it has affected us deeply.

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

I’m so sorry to hear that you were so closely impacted by the Newtown events. So very sad. I think RAOK is a great way to do in the wake of the tragedy.

  • ria

I resolve to drink more water and to stand up straight and tall

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

Posture is something so many of us need to work on!

  • Mendy Dinsmore

I like your list, and several things on it are things I need to work on. Getting healthier is important.

My other goals are to plant a garden and maintain it all season. I’m going to try and be less stressed all the time. Taking care of my husband, mother and mother in law takes a toll on me. I am going to add some ME time in my life. If it is only a few minutes a day, I’m going to have ME time.

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

Yes, taking some time for yourself is so important for caretakers of others! I hope you find the much needed ME time in 2013!

  • http://www.so-calledgeek.com Rachelle Goldenberg

I love your list…. especially that you said GET HEALTHY… and not lose weight. HEALTHY is key!

    Rock on sista!

    • http://www.RobynsOnlineWorld.com Robyn Wright

Yes totally! It is about being healthy, not skinny. I want to be able to be more active, be able to stop taking (or cut way back) on blood pressure meds, etc.

  • Kathy Overton

This year I would love to be able to finish reorganizing and locate a suitable place to move. I also want to put my youngest daughter into art classes.

  • Margie

I always resolve to exercise more and eat healthier. Maybe this year I will actually do it. Good luck with your non- resolutions, Robyn.

  • Julie Jones

I definitely need to cook more! Great list thanks! Happy New Year

  • Kelsi

Looks very similar to my wishlist as well. I DEFINITELY want to get back in the routine of cooking at home more. It’s so much easier to get things quickly, especially since I recently became vegan it’s a must that I cook at home more.
    Happy new year!

    Goals:
    1. grow my fitness business
    2. spend more time with my kids
    3. manage my time better
    4. healthier/stronger
    5. do more things that I love

  • Karla

I look forward to making New Year’s resolutions with my husband – usually number one for us is always “Lose Weight!” (stat!) but this year we want to spend more quality time with our 3 kiddos (all under 10.) And to have more one on one time with them and each other. Happy New Year!!

  • Sert

My resolutions are very similar to yours. Trying to get on a healthy track and spend more time with family

Aside from continuing on my weight loss/food addiction journey, I want to stop having unrealistic expectations. I expect to much from others and myself and always end up hurt and angry and disappointed. I am hoping to let go of a lot of that this year. I also, due to the recent death of my father on Christmas day, am hoping to deal with the rage and disappointment his lifestyle choices left behind.

  • Mary

Just come to Miami and you will learn spanish quick lol.

  • http://brokenwon.blogspot.com Wendy T

Congrats on the new car. That is very exciting!

My goal is to waste less this year.

  • Danielle

I recently updated my “Bucket list”.. Needless to say, I am pretty pumped about the new year. It is just another chance to start to look at things in a different perspective. The new year always feels like a fresh start to me.

  • ellen

Mine is actually to stay off the internet more = less sitting more moving around.

    You have a great list!

  • Elisabeth

After reading your goals I realized that I need to make cooking at home more of a priority this year too! We have been so bad about eating out the past couple of months! :( Also, I’m going to work on increasing my income and taking a trip overseas with my husband.

  • Michelle S

I had bronchitis and food poisoning so far this year–it’s not starting out right but I hope it gets better. I would make duplicates of the list and post them in your purse, on your phone, on your mirror, but don’t think of it as a “checklist” per se.

  • RoBin rakestraw

I just started my pre-list today. I hope to have it compiled and refined by the weekend. I’m putting a lot of thought into it because I want to follow thru with it.

  • Michelle Tucker

Love the list! I am going to second the calling and visiting with grandpa more. He’s 92 and I love him so. Both my parents are gone and the rest of my grandparents. He’s all I have left.

Improving our eating habits and increasing our activity is number one. We are also wanting to become more healthy in the other aspects of our lives – in our relationships, balancing work and life, as well as financially.

  • Jennifer Farrish

I really wish to accomplish a peace of mind, I really think I worry way too much about things.

  • Susan Smith

I don’t make resolutions because I just break them but I do belive in having goals. Mine incluse, saving money for a big emergency account, eating healthier and doing a couple of home improvement projects.

  • Barbara Stapleton

    I likey… My 2013 List:
    1. A makeover (health issues affected skin, hair, weight… uggh)
    2. Start my Women’s Home (90 day transitional program – not drugs/alcohol, just finances, homes, etc.)
    3. Visit my Sister in California, my Brother in Pennsylvania, bring my Daughter and Grandkids to live with me.
    4. Doggie daycare for my Fluffy!
    5. Help my Church get into our OWN building (very expensive on East Coast!)
    6. Get an iPad mini — missed out on all the others, this is a burning desire.

  • Linda

Thank you for sharing your wishlist. I feel like sharing your wish list and goals for the year make it a bit easier to stick with them. My friends and I always share our lists and help each other stick to our goals. For our “staying healthy” goal we enrolled in cycling classes together and agreed to have health nights on Friday where we bring healthy recipes that we’re going to experiment with.

    • Barbara Stapleton

Health night is a great idea; I suggested this very thing on the White House’s contact form

  • Kenny F

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Victoria S.

Getting healthy is also at the top of my list!
This is very difficult for me because since i was in sixth grade (now I’m nineteen)
I have had a syndrome called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.
This is a nerve disorder that makes it very complicated to get around, especially because i have it in both my left ankle, and my right foot.
Hopefully we will both stay healthy this New Year!
    Thank you!
    -Victoria

#1 Spend more time with my family
#2 Make more high calorie food for my son to help him gain weight.
    #3 Get organized (declutter/prioritize)
#4 Grow my weight loss and nutrition business
#5 Have Date Night once a month with my husband
    #6 Stay calm

  • http://fadedginger.wordpress.com Ginger Kay

Number nine sounds delightful to me, but I’m not expecting that wish to come true.

  • ciaraj

i have somewhat of a list, but i’m doing 30 challenges for 30 days. not all mind you, but a few. i started some already, and i will do more later after i get through the first couple. i do have the weight thing at the top of my wish list every year. i want to find a job, save $ for a dslr which my husband hasn’t bought me in the last 4 or 5 years that i’ve asked lol, learn a skill, i want to learn a language (preferably the one of my peoples lol), get passports for me and the girls (my hubs doesn’t think we need them, but they’re just so much easier to deal with when traveling), get more crafty, and i’m sure i’ll think of more stuff as the year goes along.
