Our GreenBEAN Delivery

Recently Green BEAN Delivery asked if I would like to try out their service. They delivery fresh organic fruits and vegetables right to your doorstep. I love this concept! Read on to see my thoughts and get a coupon for your own delivery!

When you sign up it is for a specific plan, but you can adjust it as needed weekly (or however often you like) and even make changes to the list of items that will be included in your delivery. Green BEAN Delivery will send you emails reminding you of your upcoming shipment and give you the link to go in and make any changes that you want the weekend before. Then on your delivery day you will receive a box just like this:

Crate used to deliver GreenBEAN produce

On my delivery day we actually had a winter storm move in and they still delivered that morning. I was expecting to maybe get a call or email saying that they would have to reschedule, but nope, there was my delivery right outside my door!

Inside crate is styrofoam coolerInside is a cool pack plus the items are packed in plastic and/or paper bags

Inside your bin is a Styrofoam cooler and then all of your products are in bags of some type. There is also an ice pack. Now this may seem like a lot of packaging BUT they reuse these items. You set your bin out on your next delivery day and they take it all back to use again. Love that!

This delivery was their small bin which (in my area) is $35. Remember this is ORGANIC food also – so the price was actually about the same or a bit less than what I would pay at my regular grocery store for organic produce. So many foods we eat the entire thing, including that outer skin, this is why I have been trying to buy more and more organic for myself and my family.

Our GreenBEAN Delivery

In my Green BEAN Delivery bin I received:

  • 10 oz Crimini mushrooms
These were delicious! I used them to make my Beefy Barley and Mushroom Soup
  • 32oz Yukon Gold Potatoes
These are the best for making mashed potatoes by the way!
  • Broccoli bunch
This stayed fresh in my fridge much longer than what I buy at my regular grocery store – I was impressed! I used this to make a Sausage, Broccoli, and Mushroom Omelet Roll recipe from Feels Like Home Blog.
  • 2 large yellow sweet onions
  • 4 Murcott Honey Mandarin – Stem and Leaf
OMG these are sooooo delicious and I love that they are small! Perfect snack!
  • 2 Meyer lemons
  • 1 Avocado
I love avocados! Just on their own, in salads, on burgers, or mashed into my easy homemade guacamole
  • 2 Gala apples
My son called dibs on these to take for a snack at work with him
  • 1 lb strawberries
  • 1 head of garlic
This was my least favorite item, not because of taste, but because I was already sprouting a bit.
  • 5 Roma tomatoes
A nice bunch of bright red ones!
  • 1 bunch Romaine lettuce
I am happy that I can have salad once again since my surgery – I love an ice cold crisp salad! This was very fresh also!

Currently Green BEAN Delivery has service in Missouri, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. Hopefully they will expand to other areas as well. This is a great way to get your family eating more vegetables and fruits. Try out some unique items in your delivery, get the kids interested in new things, and cook together as a family. I love that they source the produce locally so much, it’s not everything all the time, but that is a big focus for them.

I will be subscribing to this service for my own family. I am just waiting a bit as I get a handle on re-thinking my cooking post weight loss surgery. Our quantities and many of my recipes are changing right now and I do not want any of these yummy items to go to waste! I really do recommend you giving Green Bean Delivery a try.

You will have to act fast, this code is only good for one week from the date of this post. It is good at any of the locations of Green BEAN Delivery for $15.00 off of your first shipment for new customers or for reactivating customers too.

Have you ever tried a produce delivery service? Do you buy organic fruits and vegetables?

Disclosure: I received the service free to try it out. Opinions are my own.

I have never tried a produce delivery system and although it looks good I am not sure I would only because of the price- $35 is a tad steep for what is there. Nice looking produce, just not for me most likely.

I live by myself and have thought that these would be too much for just one person. Nice variety of veggies.

This looks like a great (healthy) deal! They don’t deliver to my area, but I am thinking about joining a CSA from a local farm this year. Enjoy your veggies!

I have never tried a delivery before. I feel like I want to pick the produce myself. I usually do not buy organics, just too expensive!

Wish we had a service like this in our area. It’d be great for the 5 or 6 months that we don’t have any of our own fresh garden veggies.

Love the idea of organic, and delivery, with my disabilitys its so hard for me to go grocery shopping with the 2 young ones and i can really tell the difference in the taste of the food out of my moms garden as in the food from the market so many plus’s to this.

That’s a really cool idea. Our local farmer’s coop used to offer delivery in my neighborhood, and I’ve been really sad that they stopped. Now, it’s much hard to access great local produce. I’d love something like this in New Orleans.
