infographics logoRegardless of how much I preach security to everyone I know, some still don’t get it and frankly sometimes security issues happen to those that do understand too. For this Saturday Infographic I found this one from Microsoft (Disclosure: A reminder that I do receive certain perks as part of the Windows Champions team – but this was just something I found on my own today that happened to be Microsoft) with some statistics and tips that you might find interesting.

Microsoft Overview of Infographic:

On February 4, 2013 at 9 p.m. PST, in observance of Safer Internet Day (SID) on February 5, 2013, Microsoft released the results of its second annual Microsoft Computing Safety Index (MCSI), which was conducted in 20 countries/regions*. This year, Microsoft added a Mobile Safety Index to the survey. This infographic will highlight the worldwide results

I am in most of those categories as I believe in security. My passwords are usually strong (alpha numeric), click on most updates – not all :), and educate on what others are saying by reading forums and blogs.

I definitely still need to do more to protect my personal information. I was in a hotel this weekend and was more conscious of not visiting banking sites while on a public network, but I’m sure I still visit sites that are not secure. Thanks for sharing the infographic.

Running updates is the one that resonates with me. I need to be more mindful of that. Making a mental note right now.
