Big Game Day Cocktail Recipes

The Super Bowl is this Sunday and beer is the choice of many to drink during the big game. I am encouraging you all to go beyond beer though with some of these great cocktails perfect for watching football. Thanks to Deussen for the recipes and photos!

Red Zone Punch

In football the red zone is the area on the field between the goal line and the 20 yard line. You want your team their because their chances of scoring are better there!

  • red-zone-punch1 bottle of Sobieski Vodka (750 ml)
  • 8 oz. orange liqueur
  • 6 oz. orange juice
  • 8 oz. cranberry juice
  • 6 oz. pineapple juice
  • Champagne
  • Lemon slices for garnish

Add all ingredients into bowl and stir generously.  Top with lemon slices for garnish.   Top with Champagne to taste. Serves 20.

The Hail Mary Cocktail The Hail Mary Cocktail

The Hail Mary Pass is one of those longshot passes made in football. I am guessing they throw the ball and start praying that it makes it.

  • ½ oz. Sobieski Vodka
  • ½ oz. Triple Sec
  • ½ oz. green-apple schnapps
  • ½ oz. Botran Rum
  • ½ oz. Ungava Gin
  • 3 oz. ice tea

Mix all ingredients and pour into glass over ice. Add lime slice for garnish.

Pass Interference Cocktail Recipe Pass Interference Cocktail

When you play football there is a foul if a player interferes with the receivers ability to make a fair attempt to catch a pass. This is the pass interference.

  • 1 oz. Lucid Absinthe
  • 1 oz. Sobieski Vanilia Vodka
  • 4 oz. cola
  • 1 mint sprig

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a highball glass. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

Will you be watching the Super Bowl this Sunday? Who are you rooting for, the Seattle Seahawks or the Denver Broncos?

I’ll be watching the Superbowl, but I don’t have a personal attachment to either team.
I just hope the game, commercials, halftime show, and cocktails are all good!

That punch looks good, with things one might actually have in the house and on the bar. We used to live in the Seattle area, so we are probably rooting for the Seahawks. But mostly I am rooting for the puppy and Clydesdale commercial, LOL. Have a great day, Robyn!!
