WINTER: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly [infographic]

infographics logoWe are expecting a major winter storm here in St. Louis overnight tonight and into tomorrow so I found an infographic for this week about winter. The latest prediction I heard was 8”-12” of snow and then super cold temps on top of that. We already still have snow on the ground from a couple of days ago.

Now, I am not complaining about the snow at all – I really do love snow! But I do understand that it can be a hassle for a lot of folks, including Hubby who has shovel out the cars, drive in it, and have it melt on him at work when he works on cars. I feel for him and everyone else who has to deal with the bad and the ugly parts of winter. For me though, I’m just going to try to enjoy the beauty of it from inside the house all warm and cozy and in front of the fire.

What is your favorite and least favorite thing about winter?

PS – Did you know I post an infographic every Saturday?

Obviously, some people love winter and the cold. I am not among them. I’m a summer girl.

My favorite thing about winter is how pretty the trees look when they are snow covered. However, I cannot stand the salt stains that terrorizes the bottoms of my jeans and coats my leather boots.

My favorite thing about winter is that it’s a chance for me to slow down and read, bake, drink hot chocolate and do all the things I couldn’t do when it was so hot and humid during summer. My least favorite thing about winter (aside from hating the cold) is thinking about all the homeless people and pets who are suffering and even dying because of the cold & wet weather.

I have an uncle that is a small town Town Marshall and feel so bad for him having to be outside for car accidents and having to respond to so many more domestic violence incidents because cabin fever seems to enrage abusers.

Favorites:ice skating and sledding and how beautiful it looks when freshly fallen
Bad: driving, shoveling…and always feeling cold

I love baking, making homemade hot chocolate, reading & crafting. The snow can be fun, sledding, making snowmen ect. However, the roads become treacherous sidewalks and streets are obstacle courses, I really worry about falling, throughout the years no matter how careful I’ve been I did fall twice. I also worry about my hubs & boys, often times trains stop running, unlike Manhattan in the outer boroughs have elevated trains that get stranded. Road closers are just as bad.

I don’t mind winter, having lived in upstate NY all my life. The worst thing is drivers who don’t make allowances for the road conditions. The best thing is being able to ‘hibernate’ and stay inside to sew, read, cook & watch TV.

My least favorite thing about winter is scraping the car window…and my favorite thing is going snowshoeing!
