Cat Snaps App - Fun app for your cats and you to play with! |

I adore my cats and I am always on the lookout for new toys for them. Generally they are little toy mice or catnip balls and such but I recently found an app that is a toy for my cats! Really!

Cat Snaps is an app that has a little ball or insects, mice, etc. randomly move around on the screen on your smartphone. If you play in picture mode whenever your cat touches their paw to the screen the front facing camera on your phone snaps a picture of them! You can also let them just play without the camera mode.

Here is a short Vine video of my cat, Peaches, playing Cat Snaps

You can see that she really gets into this little game! One of my other cats, Ozzie, also likes it but not quite as much and he is all black so the photos don’t really turn out so great of him. Then my other cat, Lottie, does not really have an interest. It just shows you that even animals have their own likes and dislikes and personalities.

The app itself is free and the original ball/dot mode is free to use also. You can upgrade by purchasing the other items. I got the insects the other day. Cute and Peaches seems to like the fluttering movements on the bugs even more than just the red ball version.

This is not an app that is going to taking stunning photos of your cats, but they are fun! Here are a few of my favorite Cat Snaps so far.

You can see you will also get plenty of shots of your ceiling, sometimes an interested bystander (see Hubby there in the last one), and random other things. I suggest having lots of light in the room when you use this since the front facing cameras generally do not have a flash and your cat will be blocking a lot of the light with their body also.

On a side note, for all of you who are cat lovers like me, be sure to check out my Pinterest board all about cats!

Would your cat like to play Cat Snaps? Do you know of any other fun apps like this for your pets?

I do not have an android device but this makes me want to go and buy one. We have 4 cats and though one I pretty lazy, I bet the other ones would enjoy it greatly. Love your pics

My daughter has two cats. So I might have to try this app with them and see how they react.

Let me know how they like it if you try it!

I had to wait until a cat got out of my lap to say anythng on this post because they would want it. I wonder if there is something on itunes? I have an IPad1 and could try it there…

The app designer just emailed me to let me know that it is available for iOS Not sure if it will work with an older iPad – but take a look for sure!

Your Vine video is awesome. What a fun app! We don’t have cats, and I don’t know any other pet apps, but I will tell my friends about this.

That’s really funny. I would have never thought of that. It’s amusement for me and my cat.

Peaches is adorable. I wish dogs responded to apps like that. I will have to tell my cat loving friends about this.

Well dogs do other things that cats refuse – so it all evens out in the end :-)
