National Moscato Day |

While I usually bring you cocktail recipes on Friday, today I’m talking about Moscato wine instead. Why? Because today happens to be National Moscato Day! So the recipe today is super easy, buy a bottle of Moscato, open, and pour into your glass! No extra ingredients needed!

Even if you think you do not like wines, especially if you find them to be bitter, you should give Moscatos a try. They are a sweeter wine that nearly everyone enjoys. This is a great starter wine if you want to try something.

I rarely meet a Moscato that I don’t like. They are even better when they add some bubbles for sparkling Moscatos! Wines are still fairly new to me and I have no clue on pairing them to be honest, but I can tell you that I think Moscato will go with anything. Here are some of the recent ones that I have tried and loved! Some of these I have received samples of, some I have bought on my own.

  • Bella Bolle Moscato D’Asti
This is a sparkling Moscato and it is one of my favorites!

  • Barefoot Wines Red Moscato
This is my everyday go to Moscato of choice. I keep it on hand, it is inexpensive, and tasty. Barefoot Wines also has some sparkling Moscatos that I like as well.

  • Riunite Sparkling Moscato
This is another great sparkling Moscato but while it is a common brand, I do have a bit of trouble finding it in the stores near me.

  • Alice White Red Lexia Moscato from Australia
I really enjoyed this red Moscato too, it had a more sophisticated flavor than most of the other reds I have tried.

  • Refresh Turning Leaf Moscato and Red Moscato
Both of these are equally delicious

  • Barefoot Wines Moscato California
This is another easy go to Moscato to keep on hand. Very light.

  • Roscato Red from Italy
This is technically not a Moscato, it is a blend of wines. They serve this at Olive Garden apparently because the first time I posted a pic of this people went crazy asking me where I bought it (I do not remember) because they had it at Olive Garden and wanted it for at home. It is very similar to a red Moscato though in flavor.

Cheers! Enjoy National Moscato Day!

So have you tried any Moscato wines before? What do you think of them? Do you have any favorites you would like to share?

I was just introduced to this wine last week, and I love it. It must be an omen! :)

I have not tried Moscato; thank you for the suggestions. The Bella Bolle Moscato D’Asti sounds particularly nice!

Thanks for the recommendations. There are also several Finger Lakes (NY) wineries that have great moscatos – next time you are in the liquor store check out the NY wine section.
