Transferring Your Old Smartphone to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with Samsung Smart Switch

samsung smart switch on note 4

On Friday I received a new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Smartphone from Verizon. Disclosure: I am a #VZWBuzz Verizon Lifestyle Blogger and have received this device from them; opinions are my own. Previously I had been using the Note 3 and I needed to take the info from the old phone and put it on the new phone.

Using the Samsung Smart Switch app made this a breeze! I just installed the app on both of my phones and then told the Note 3 to send my info to the new Note 4. I was able to select what specific content I wanted even including pictures, music, videos, apps, contacts, calendar, S Note, messages, documents, call logs, wallpapers, and more. Once you have the categories you want selected (I did everything), just hit transfer. You will need to confirm on the new phone to import that info when the popup appears. Now set your phones down and walk away.

You can use Samsung Smart Switch to move your data from your old Android or iPhone to any new Samsung Galaxy line of smartphones.

It really is just that simple. The process of installing the app on both phones, selecting what I wanted to transfer, and starting the process took less than five minutes and is very easy to do even if you are not overly tech savvy. The app estimated my transfer time at 44 minutes. I’m not sure if that is exactly how long it took or shorter as I just set the phones down and watched TV for a while. When I picked the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 back up it was finished.

My Note 3 is in pretty good shape still by the way so I did a factory reset on it and I will be giving it away here on my blog. Stay tuned this week for the giveaway!

Do you think transferring data from your old smartphone to a new Samsung Galaxy smartphone would be simpler with Samsung Smart Switch than what you had to do the last time you got a new smartphone?

I think I could do it. It sounds very easy when you walk through the steps. That’s one very handy app. I love how you just told it to send your info from your Note 3 to your Note 4. Gotta love those apps!

This is very cool. We are an Apple family though. But, that said, I wish they would make something like this for switching info from one PC to another PC. My father-in-law just got a new PC and they spent a WHOLE DAY switching stuff from one PC to the other!

Well, it’s a little late, but in the future use WINDOWS EASY TRANSFER to do this. Makes life a breeze when upgrading your PC!

Via Verizon, my husband changed from a Samsung phone to a LG G3 phone. The Samsung transfer program worked, but it didn’t transfer his memos and his contact list was duplicated several times.
