infographics logoAre you a racing fan? If so, you already know that the Daytona 500 is tomorrow (February 22). This is a sporting event that we watch in our home and we have even had a Daytona 500 party one year (although it ended up being a bad day because Hubby and I had one of our worst fights ever – but that was several years ago).

For this week’s infographic I found one full of Daytona fun facts from Fox Sports. While the food stats at the bottom do not compare to Super Bowl Food Infographic I shared a few weeks ago, but these are just for concessions at the race track and that is a lot of food!

I will be rooting for Dale Earnhardt Jr. to win the race. Who are you rooting for?

I have to say I am not a big race car fan. But this is some interesting information you shared and boy that sure is a lot of food sold at concession stands.

Glad you enjoyed even though not a racing fan

I dont much watch the races on TB. We did go to a Nascar sanctioned race last year and I couldnt believe the price of water was 5 dollars! I dont think we will go to many live races althog it was fun since we had pit passes.

The smaller tracks are fun and a bit less expensive – but just like with all sports I think tickets and concession prices are ridiculously high

We will probably watch it but aren’t huge fans like some people. I do have to say that I remember watching Richard Petty win back in the day. It is very interesting how much food they sale. I would like to see Dale Earnhardt Jr. win.

Hubby did the Richard Petty Racing Experience where he got to drive a race car several years ago – he loved it. I wish Dale Jr. would have won, had it not been for the yellow checkered he may have done it!

Interesting info and history. I’m not much into it these days but I have a friend who’s followed like a fiend for 40 years. The phone calls lately are very race-centered.

LOL well that is nice of you to listen to your friend talking about racing when you chat :-)

I have never hosted or attended a Daytona 500 party, but the infographic is cool.
I never knew that NASCAR was founded in the 1940s.

Racing has changed so much since NASCAR started, but all sports have I guess.

Very interesting facts..we are also Dale Earnhardt Jr. fans, we cannot watch with my brother in law..he doesn’t like us talking while the race is

ROFL – that reminds me of my Grandma C. She always wanted people to come and visit (she lived in the country) but if you visited and the Cardinals baseball game was on she would shush you the entire time!

13 ginette4 February 24, 2015 at 12:46 pm

pft..that’s so funny, I had an aunt should say I have an aunt when she watched the Young And The Restless she did the same thing, she shushed us..the first time she actually told me to shut up..I was so shocked and taken by surprise that I almost started cousin came over to see me and explained that it was a forbidden to talk or whisper while she watched her favourite show…wow scary!

I would have loved to win the almost 20,000,000 purse in 2014! These are very interesting facts.

Glad you liked the infographic Natalie!

Interesting facts that I did not know

Love this! My dad loves racing, so I spent most of my childhood watching it :)

19 Robyn Wright February 23, 2015 at 4:06 pm

Hubby is a racing fan. As a teen my friends and I spent a lot of time going to local circle tracks and drag races too.

I totally forgot until yesterday that racing season had started again. My fave Dale Jr. didn’t do too bad. :) (Angie Bailey)

21 Robyn Wright February 23, 2015 at 4:06 pm

Yep, 3rd wasn’t so bad for him.

22 AngelaLilly February 23, 2015 at 9:28 am

I do not watch racing but I know a lot of people who love it. Man…that is a lot of pretzels! LOL

23 Robyn Wright February 23, 2015 at 4:06 pm

I think people buy pretzels a lot because they are one of the cheaper items on the concession stand menu LOL

24 AngelaLilly February 24, 2015 at 7:18 am

LOL!!!!! I bet you are right! :-D
