For Mother’s Day I did a tech gift list for geeky moms like me based on things I really love and/or want. People are now asking what about Dad for Father’s Day. So my own husband sat down with me to share some of his favorite tech items that he already owns and loves or that he really wants. I hope you can find a great tech gift idea for your dad from this list. Disclosure: I have received several of these items as a part of the Verizon #VZWBuzz ambassador program and some products from manufacturers. Opinions are my, well Hubby’s, own.
- HTC One M9 Smartphone
Hubby is now using the HTC One M9 from Verizon and is loving it! He is a big fan of the HTC Sense Home feature which knows if he is at home, work, or out and puts the most common apps he uses based on the location right on his home screen widget. The front facing speakers and the audio technology in the HTC phones he has always been a fan of because his partially deaf in one ear – the HTC phones are the ones he can always hear on. I used this phone myself for several weeks and reviewed it if you need more info.
- iSimple TranzIt BLU Hands Free Kit
If your car does not have Bluetooth built in, the iSimple TranzIt BLU HF is a great way to be able to connect your phone to your car and have it play music, phone calls, and use voice commands through your car speakers. Hubby researched quite a few of these and bought this one about six months ago and swears by it. He uses it in his 2007 Dodge truck.
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 Tablet
This is the tablet Hubby uses already, he has had other Samsung tablets in the past as well and really likes this brand the best. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 tablet is available at Verizon and you can add it to your More Everything data plan for just $10 a month to have a connection anywhere you go.
- Bose Soundlink Mini Bluetooth Speaker
We have several Bluetooth speakers at our house, but the one Hubby likes the best is the Bose SoundLink Mini. He cannot believe the sound that comes out of this little portable speaker. *SALE PRICE* This is Verizon’s accessory of the month for June and is 10% off. Need to know why this would be a great gift? - Otterbox Defender Smartphone Case
Hubby’s go to case whenever he gets a new phone is the Otterbox Defender series. His favorite is the Mossy Oak version, but they have several colors available to fit your dad’s tastes.
- GoPro Hero 4 Camera
This is one of those more expensive toys that Hubby has been drooling over. He wants a GoPro Hero 4 particularly for when he is hunting. Many years ago he took one of those Flip cameras that everyone had a painted it in camo and made a mount for it on his bow for hunting so this would be quite an upgrade for him.
- GoPro Fetch Dog Harness
As you know we adopted a dog in December and she is Hubby’s buddy. So if he gets a GoPro he also wants the GoPro Fetch Dog Harness so he can strap the camera onto Annie. I thought this was kind of funny since Annie is a pretty lazy dog, but it is his wish list so whatever he likes.
- Belkin NetCam HD Plus
Hubby just wants to record all types of things I guess. He loves our Belkin NetCam HD Plus because he can see in the house when he is away. This one also has sound on it as well as night vision. He can pull up the app on his phone, tablet, or computer at work and see what’s happening live in our house. You can also set it to snap photos to save when motion is detected.
- LG Tone Pro Wireless Headset
The LG Tone Pro Wireless Headset has been Hubby’s favorite wireless headset for a few years now. They are great when he is working out in the yard or washing his car and he wants to listen to his music. This have proven to be very durable and sweat proof!
- All Purpose Battery Charging Pack
Hubby loves this all-purpose battery charging pack kit which will charge laptops, phones, and even jumpstart your car. He keeps this in his car all the time so that whenever he needs to charge something up he is ready to go. Friends and family love it too because Brad has helped them charge up on the go as well.
- iDevice Kitchen Thermometer
Hubby loves to grill and he likes having this iDevice Kitchen Thermometer so he can put the probe into whatever food he is grilling and check the temperature and time on the app that goes on your phone.
- EasyDiag Personal Vehicle Trouble Diagnostic Tool
By trade, Hubby is a master automotive technician. He uses a lot of different tools that are computer based these days to diagnose cars for work, but you can use these at home as well. He just recently bought this EasyDiag device – it is the OBD II sensor that plugs into the car and then the app you use on your device to see all sorts of car stuff. Great for any of the car guys on your Father’s Day shopping list.
Well there you have it. Hubby’s favorite tech gifts and wants that he recommends for your own dads this upcoming Father’s Day. Did you spot anything you think your dad would like?[signoff]
