Why I Love My Microsoft Band and Enter to Win Your Own Microsoft Band too! RobynsOnlineWorld.com

I have tried out lots of wearable devices over the past few years. They all have positive aspects to them and I really encourage everyone to try them out. However, I am currently wearing my favorite device to date, the Microsoft Band. (Disclosure: I was provided a Microsoft Band as part of the Microsoft Bloggers and they provided me another to give away. Opinions are my own.) Why is this my favorite? It really combines features that I actually use on a regular basis all in one simple sleek wearable! The Microsoft Band keeps track of my fitness and activity as well as helping me be more productive.

Features I Love of the Microsoft Band

  • Available for Multiple Platforms
The Microsoft Band doesn’t just work with Windows devices, it also works with apps from the iTunes store and the Google Play store! Since I try out a lot of different phones and tablets this is really important for me. I can connect my Microsoft Band to just about any device I am using!
  • Microsoft Health
Connect your Microsoft Band to Microsoft Health (free) and it gives you insights into your activity and gives you actionable insights. It also will connect with other services like MyFitnessPal, HealthVault, and RunKeeper. I love having all of this info in one place and my doctor likes being able to see all of it as well.
  • Multiple Activity Tracking Modes
Activity trackers all have pedometers to track your steps, but the Microsoft Band can track your steps but also will track your 24-hour heart rate, your sleep, your running (it’s different steps than walking), and even guided workouts. This means all of your activity is tracked in the best method possible and still all in one place.
  • Be More Productive
I can do a ton of things via the Microsoft Band that helps me be more productive and save time throughout the day. Right on the band I can preview my emails, see my calendar events, and use the timer and alarm to stay on track.
  • Cortana
Yes, you can even interact with Cortana, the Microsoft Virtual Assistant (kind of like Siri or OK Google, but better), via the Microsoft Band. Ask her to find things, set reminders, add appointments, and even tell you a joke. This particular function is for those connected to a Windows Phone though – but they rock too!
  • Texts, Calls, Notifications, and Social Updates at a Glance
Get notifications on your Microsoft Band of incoming calls, text messages, social updates, weather, and other things. No need to pick up your phone all the time, just look at your wrist. You can even reply to texts right from the band and even though it is small, it is still very easy to do.
  • Built-in UV Monitor
This is a pretty cool extra feature that I didn’t know I would use at first but it really is handy. Just hold out your wrist to find out what the UV Index is right where you are. We all know we should wear sun block and such, but it isn’t something many of us are always good about. This feature is a nice reminder to help me do better at this and protect my skin from sun damage.
  • Easily Customized Screen
I love that I can easily customize the color and pattern on the Microsoft Band with the built-in options. You can also change the order of the apps menu. Even better are the extra apps you can get to customize your Microsoft Band further by adding your own custom photo backgrounds and such. I can match my outfit or mood every single day!

Those are all things I use on a regular basis with my Microsoft Band. I love that the uses are continuing to grow via apps and updates as well and since it is with multiple platforms it seems to be endless. I know those that are regular readers know that I am a huge Microsoft fan, but I think even those that may not normally lean towards Microsoft products will really be impressed with the Microsoft Band. The retail price is $199 and I think very much worth every penny of that. Everyone I personally know who has the Microsoft Band is totally in love with it as well!

Microsoft Band

As I mentioned earlier, Microsoft has provided me another Microsoft Band to give away to one lucky winner here on my blog! Woohoo! Good luck everyone!
