For those in St. Louis you know that Forest Park is a huge part of our city that plays a vital role. If you are not in St. Louis you should know that Forest Park is one of the largest parks in an urban area in the US at 1,300 acres which is 500 acres larger than New York’s Central Park even. Forest Park Forever is a private, nonprofit organization to restore and maintain this glorious destination.
This one magnificent area is home to the St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Art Museum, St. Louis Science Center, Missouri History Museum, The Muny Outdoor Opera House, World’s Fair Pavilion, The Jewel Box, Steinberg Skating Rink, along with several conservation and nature areas and recreational areas open to everyone. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who lives in the St. Louis area who has not been to Forest Park and if you visit us it is a must of places to see while you are in town. Be sure to download (free PDF) the Forest Park Visitor’s Guide.
The I Love Forest Park 5K and Kids Fun Run is coming up on September 13, 2015. This year the run has a new route taking you past some of the best of Forest Park and ending with a big gathering at the Post-Run Party! This is the only benefit that directly supports Forest Park Forever. Registration for the 5K Run is $25 on/before August 17 and includes a free T-shirt, after that date registration is $35. The Kids Fun Run is $8 on/before August 17 and $15 after that date.
