Holiday shopping is here and I’m always asked about tech gifts. Today I’m sharing my tech picks for holiday gifts. Most of these I have used myself, either items I have received for free for review or items I have purchased on my own. Some of the items I don’t own, but really am drooling over for myself even. Some of the links below are affiliate links also – but again products I highly recommend!
- Lenovo A740 All-in-One Desktop
If you are looking for a great family computer I highly recommend a Lenovo A740 All-in-One computer. One of the best features is that the screen is adjustable and you can rotate it from angled to flat! This is great for playing games with the family right on the computer when it is lying flat. There is a great air hockey game and paddles that is so much like the real thing that I was totally amazed. Perfect to put in the den for the entire family to use.
- Surface Book
This is one of the products I am personally drooling over! The new Microsoft Surface Book is the ultimate laptop. Currently I use a Surface Pro 3 tablet and it is the first table that replaces a laptop for me, but the Surface Book – oh my! It ups the game even more! The starting price (non-sale) is $1,499 for the Surface Book and I think is very reasonable for what this machine will do. Note to Santa – this is what I really, really, really want!
- Microsoft Band
I’ve talked about the Microsoft Band previously. Out of all of the wearables I have tried it is by far my favorite. Not only is it an activity tracker, but it also does so much more like showing me phone calls, texts, and updates. It’s everything I love about wearables but all in one device!
- HTC One M9 Smartphone
This is Hubby’s tech pick for my holiday gift list. The HTC One M9 for Verizon is the phone he has been using for a few months now and he loves it. He is actually almost deaf in one ear and the HTC line of phones really seems to be easiest for him to hear.
- Arlo Smart Home Security Camera System
I just recently received the Arlo Smart Home Security System and I am totally loving it. The best part, even though I’m very geeky, was how easy it was to set up. You can also easily move the cameras around from place to place. I have 2 of the cameras outside now to keep an eye on our home. Hubby can also easily login to see the camera photo and video captures on his phone as well.
- Bluetooth Speaker
I actually have several of these and highly recommend them to everyone. It is really hard to pick just one favorite though. What I can tell you is to not buy the super cheap ones for like $20 that you will find often this time of the year. It really is worth the money to buy a better Bluetooth speaker if your budget allows it. The one I use in my home office is the Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker from Verizon. Another favorite, especially because of portability is the Monster SuperStar High Definition Bluetooth Speaker. The other one my Hubby uses at work is the Sony X3 Bluetooth Speaker.
- Google Chromecast
There are a lot of different products for streaming content to your TV, but I think the Google Chromecast is one of the better values for only around $35. Your TV will need a USB port, but if you have it this can do a lot for you!
- Pioneer 8100 NEX Android Head Unit
This is one of my son’s pick, the Pioneer 8100 NEX Android Head Unit. This is a “stereo” for your car to replace the built in stereo system. This allows you to listen to the stereo, use navigation, make phones calls, and receive other information. Think tablet for the car. This model is quite expensive at $1400, but if you want something less expensive search on eBay.com for “android head unit”.
- ZOTAC NEN Steam Machine
For gamers on your list the ZOTAC NEN Steam Machine is a console to bridge the gap between PC gaming and console gaming. It allows you to play PC games on your TV like you do already with console gaming.
- VU Qi Wireless Charger
If your smartphone has Qi charging built in I highly recommend the VU Qi Wireless Charger. This is the one I use on my nightstand actually. There is no plugging in needed for the phone – you just set it in the stand and it charges wirelessly. I use this with my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 each night.
- Windows Apps
This might be more for you as a gift than for others, but from November 20-30, Microsoft is offering tons of apps for just 10¢ each! Go ahead and treat yourself to a few new apps for your Microsoft devices this holiday.
- Work and Play Bundle
If you are a Microsoft fan like I am the Microsoft Work and Play Bundle special for just $149 is an awesome deal. With the bundle you get a one-year subscription to Office 365 Home, access to 2 million paid Wi-Fi locations via Skype Wi-Fi, Skype Unlimited World Calling, Xbox Live Gold, Assure Support Plan and a $60 Bonus Gift Card! Amazing!
