Favorite Features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 | Robyns.World

I have been using the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on Verizon for a few weeks now. Disclosure – I received this phone as part of the Verizon #VZWBuzz team, opinions are my own. Today I’m going to share a few of my favorite features of this latest smartphone.

  • Take Notes While Phone Is Asleep
This is by far my favorite thing. Without even waking up the phone, just take out the S-Pen (stylus) and start writing on the dark screen. No need to wake the phone up and find an app to open, just start writing on the screen. When you put the S-Pen back in the holder, the note is automatically saved into S Notes on your Samsung Galaxy Note 5. So far all those times you just wanted to take a super quick note and searched for a piece of paper and a pen, there is no need to hunt any longer. Do it right on your phone!

  • Fingerprint Lock
Instead of putting in a numerical code or a pattern to unlock your phone just use your fingertips! In your settings simply store your fingerprints and that’s what you simply touch at the bottom of the phone to unlock it (wake it up). You can store multiple fingerprints also which is really a bonus feature. I had tried fingerprint scans on other devices in the past and found them a bit slow and clunky, but on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 it is super fast and easy.

  • Push Button S-Pen
Samsung has updated the way the S-Pen is stored. Instead of simply pulling it out, there is now a push you do first. This may seem like an extra step, but it makes the stylus more secure in the device. I like this new method better. One word of caution – do not put the S-Pen in upside down, it will get stuck!
  • Digital Signature and PDF Annotation
Have you ever needed to sign a document or a contract but didn’t want to go to the hassle of printing it out, signing it, and scanning it back in? The Note 5 solves this problem with the ability to easily digitally sign a PDF document. When you open a PDF file you can edit and use S-Pen to sign it and save it quickly. You will need to download (free) and enable to “Extra Features” of the S-Pen. Do this by going into S Note, select More, then Extra Features and you will be prompted to install it.

  • Scroll Capture
Have you ever wanted to capture an entire page or document but could only get the viewable screen saved? Now on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 it lets you capture multiple shots and it stiches them all together for you in one seamless image!
  • SideSync
Easily share the screen and data between your computer and your Samsung Galaxy Note 5. You can download the app for your computer (Windows and Mac) from Samsung. This is super cool that I can see my phone, and control it, on my desktop computer!

Digital signatures on PDF docs is would be my favorite feature. Don’t get me started on pdfs. Our administrative assistant still sends us pdf docs that we can’t even sign and save on our laptops; we need to print and return them to her by hand. Shoot, I got started. That’s enough. Anyway, that would be useful on a smartphone!

that is crazy in this digital age that you have to deliver by hand. Maybe she just doesn’t know any better?

That unusul you can take notes while the phone is off. Does it save several, or is it just once? I always write notes to myseelf I am the scrap paper queen.

You can take as many as you like. If you wanted to add to a note you would have to wake the phone and open the original. If you don’t mind them being different just make as many as you want without waking the phone.
