Hanukkah in St. Louis 2015

While I am not Jewish, I do have friends that are so I wanted to include a list of Chanukah (Hanukkah) events in the St. Louis area. Even if you aren’t Jewish, taking part and learning about the history of other religions can be very interesting.

  • Chanukah: Festival of Lights
    Missouri Botanical Gardens
    Ridgeway Visitor Center at Monsanto Hall
    December 6 from noon – 4pm
    A traditional Jewish holiday celebration that includes festive Israeli music and dance, a menorah-lighting ceremony and Chanukah merchandise provided by local vendors and the Garden Gate Shop
  • Chabad Show Me Chanukah #1
    Lazaroff Chabad Center
    December 7 at 7pm
    Lighting of Missouri’s tallest menorah, hot latkes, donuts, dreidels and gelt
  • Chabad Show Me Chanukah #2
    Schnucks at Chesterfield Commons
    December 9 at 6:30pm
    Grand menorah lighting, music and dancing, hot latkes and Chanukah raffle
  • Chabad Show Me Chanukah #3
    Market on the Loop
    December 10 at 7pm
    Giant menorah lighting, live music, hot latkes and Chanukah gelt
  • A Hanukkah Celebration with Chicago a cappella
    RADIO BROADCAST
    Radio Arts Foundation 107.3 FM and 96.3 HD2
    December 6 and 14 at 4pm
    The vocal ensemble Chicago a cappella, under the artistic direction of Jonathan Miller, will present choral music for Hanukkah, including “Lo Yisa Goy,” a plea for peace by Stacy Garrop; movements from the majestic “Hallel Suite” by London-based Daniel Tunkel; and “I Have a Little Dreidel.”
  • Jerusalem IMAX Movie
    St. Louis Science Center Omnimax Theater
    See show times on SLSC
    A film with a tour of one of the world’s oldest and most enigmatic cities. The movie also follow three young Jerusalemites and their families, Jewish, Christian, and Muslim.
  • Chanukah Hoopla Party
    Bais Abe on Delmar
    December 7 at 5:30pm – 8pm
    Join your friends at Epstein Hebrew Academy and Bais Abraham Congregation for a celebratory evening of crafts, dinner & a community candle lighting on the 2nd night of Chanukah!
